Description
This is a live compilation from the first half of 1970. First, Santana’s live performance at the Grateful Dead Bust Benefit at Winterland Arena, 16 minutes. “Waiting”, “Savor”, and “Jingo”, including “Batuka”, are played all at once like a medley. The sound quality seems to be an audience recording, but it is very clear and immersive, so it may be a soundboard. And the Hawaii performance on May 22nd, the sound balance is bad at first, but it calms down from around “Black Magic Woman”. The piano level of “Treat” is low, but the organ sound is loud. Still, it is an enjoyable soundboard recording. Even though the second album “Abraxas” has not been released, they play songs from it, and Prince also covers “Toussaint L’Overture” in “Santana Medley”, and the black shiny rock of “Hope You’re Feeling Better” sung by Gregg Rolie, which was not included in the Capitol Theater at the same time, is exceptional.
