Description
In response to the requests of fans, the studio session recordings of Danish songstress Sanne Salomonsen and Cozy Powell will be released again! This recording was sold out immediately after the original CD title was released in 2003, and also in 2010 when it was released. It is said to be the most difficult to obtain “Cozy Tapes” title among enthusiasts. If you have not heard it yet, do not miss this chance and get it! When this recording was recorded in 1987, it was just after EMERSON, LAKE & POWELL fell apart due to a conflict between Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. Cozy was freelance and mainly sought a place to work on projects and sessions, such as FORCEFIELD with Ray Fenwick and CINDERELLA’s “LONG COLD WINTER”. This session with Sanne Solomonsen was one of them. Sanne was working on the album “NO ANGEL” at the time, and Tony Tavanner, who was also a producer for EMERSON, LAKE & POWELL, was involved, and it seems that Cozy cooperated through that connection (Neil Murray probably participated through Cozy’s introduction). Even in the wide variety of Cozy’s session activities, the session with a female pop singer is extremely unique. While he matches the color of the other person like a craftsman, the musical sound that naturally exudes the characteristics of Cozy and Neil will be very interesting for fans. In this work, six rehearsal takes are recorded from a tape owned by Cozy, with official stereo soundboard recording. You can enjoy a miraculous 30 minutes that no one would have known if this tape had not appeared. Sanne’s music is originally classified as pop, but the sound you can hear here is mostly hard rock. Cozy’s play, which leads the whole album with a hard beat, is full of dynamism from the first song “Good For You”. Not only the rhythm he weaves with his friend Neil Murray, but also the guitar that resonates with sharp edges from riffs, backing, and solos, and Sanne’s rock’n’s soul singing voice are also wonderful. With excellent sound quality and the perfection of the songs, even people who don’t know Sanne’s songs will be able to listen to them easily. “Come Dance With Me”, which was also selected for the best of “Cozy Tapes” “BEST OF THE TAPES”, is a highlight take. Sanne’s funky and powerful singing voice and Cozy’s playing that tightens the sound make the song very attractive. Sanne’s soulful vocals, which are also well heard in “It’s Over (For Your Love)” and “Bogus Town”, will surely attract the listener’s ears (the word “Very Nice” that Sanne mutters after playing “Bogus Town” is the best). The last two songs are both phantom numbers that ended without being released. The straightforward pop rock melody of “Out Of Darkness” and the ballad “Baby Doll” even have the mood and atmosphere of the late ’80s. The entire band ensemble is also excellent, and Cozy fans will be captivated even if they don’t know Sanne. This 30-minute recording is perfect for those who have never heard this recording before. This release will highlight the charm of Cozy’s diverse sessions! Studio Session Tracks Recorded In London 1987 1. Good For You 2. Come Dance With Me 3. It’s Over (For Your Love) 4.
