Description
In 1994, RUSH released their new album “COUNTERPARTS,” which reached a career-high number two in the United States, and began their long-awaited tour. A masterpiece compilation of the finest stereo soundboards excavated from the “COUNTERPARTS TOUR” is now in stock. There are four types of sound sources included in this work. 2 types of rehearsal + 2 types of soundboard live. There are a variety of things, from upgrade masters of already known sound sources to those that appeared for the first time in the world with this work, but first, let’s understand the situation of each in the overall picture of “COUNTERPARTS TOUR” . [January 18th Pensacola Rehearsal] ←★Sound source A★・January 22nd – February 12th: North America #1 (15 performances) ・February 23rd – March 12th: North America #2 (12 performances)・March 22nd – April 9th: North America #3 (14 performances) ←★Sound source B★ ・April 18th – May 7th: North America #4 (13 performances) ←★Sound source C/D★ [Sound source A: Pre-tour rehearsal (January 18th Pensacola)] *4 songs: Force Ten/Distant Early Warning/YYZ The first song to appear is the rehearsal held in Pensacola four days before the start of the tour. We are playing the 4 encore parts of the actual show. The recording itself is a take that could once be heard in “FIRST PART OF COUNTERS”, but of course this work is a different master. In “FIRST PART OF COUNTERS”, “XYZ” was just over 2 minutes, but in this work it is recorded for 4 minutes and 40 seconds, and it is completely recorded up to the ending with “Cygnus X-1″‘s signature riff. And what’s surprising is its quality. This can be said of all four sound sources included in this work, but it is truly a superb sound that can be described as “super”. There are no traces of dubbing, and the performance and singing directly connected to the desk flow directly into your brain with an excellent stereo effect. Of course, the feel is rough because it is an on-site mix, but the sound quality is official grade…it is also a studio masterpiece class. [Sound source B: Soundboard live (Madison performance on April 2nd)] *2 songs: Force Ten / YYZ The second soundboard is the 9th performance of “North America #3” in Madison, which is nearing the end of the tour. Performance. “Force Ten” and “YYZ” were played during the encore. Although this is also a known sound source that has already been released, this work is an upgrade master. The previous releases were at the highest level, but when I listened to them with headphones, I could feel the deterioration. On the other hand, this work has an ultra-superb sound that does not feel any deterioration even if you listen to it microscopically, and it is an iron-clad sound that makes you wonder, “Was it even included in the official single?” [Sound source C: Rehearsal on the day (Philadelphia performance on April 29th)] *3 songs: Nobody’s Hero / Bravado / Stick It Out / Double Agent The third is the rehearsal sound source again, and the 4 songs were released for the first time in the world with this work is. The rehearsal was held on the day of the Philadelphia performance, which was the 7th performance of “North America #4”, but since it was during the tour, it was just a sound check… but it was quite elaborate. Actually, there were some reasons for this. In fact, during this “North America #4”, Geddy developed a severe cold and was not feeling well. Three days before this show, at the Land Bar performance, I couldn’t get the high notes (you can experience that struggle on our superb soundboard edition “LANDOVER 1994 ORIGINAL DAT MASTER (Cygnus 030)”), and the next day. ‘s Hampton performance has been canceled. This Philadelphia performance was the first day of his return, and serious rehearsals were conducted, including checking his throat. In fact, this take clearly conveys the serious situation. Of course, N’s total refusal is rough, but the selected songs are “Counterparts” new songs “Nobody’s Hero”, “Stick It Out”, “Double Agent”, and “Bravado” from the previous album “ROLL THE BONES”. Normally, RUSH’s sound check is like trying out familiar classics, but here they are playing new songs that require a challenge, as if carefully checking them out. [Sound source D: Soundboard live on the same day (Philadelphia performance on April 29th)] *2 songs: Bravado/YYZ The final show of this work is the actual show on the same day as “Sound source C”. The encore parts are “Bravado” and “YYZ.” The sound board of this day also has a previous release, but the last “XYZ” is not included. This was also one of the songs that appeared for the first time in the world. “Bravado” is even more noteworthy than “XYZ.” Speaking of the 1994 Philadelphia performance, “Bravado” is also used on the official version “DIFFERENT STAGES”, but that is “April 30th”. This take was the first day of the 2nd performance in Philadelphia the day before. In other words, “Bravado of sound source C” → “Bravado of sound source D” → “Official version Bravado” are three consecutive performances, and you can feel the process of recovering from poor health and recovering enough to be included in the official work. It’s also a take. The above is a treasured stereo soundboard with 11 songs and 53 minutes 84 seconds. Although it is the same tour, the circumstances are different for each, yet the sound quality is super first class. Although it is important as a soundboard collection, it is also a live performance album that is worth listening to once you know the background. One of the best pieces you can enjoy because it’s underground. Directly made into a sound disc from the original DAT leaked by the people involved (recorded and edited for recording purposes by the people involved in the tour). All tracks super high quality stereo soundboard.
