Description
“TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” can be said to be the northernmost part of progressive hard rock. A stereo soundboard album that captures the pattern in real life is now available as an upgrade. This work includes the “December 2, 1978 Detroit performance”. Speaking of the soundboard of this tour, there is the unquestionable official masterpiece “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT”, but this work is a masterpiece that cannot be ignored even by those who own that masterpiece. Before we get to the content of interest, let’s first check the position of the show from the entire tour that has mastered progressive hard rock. [1978] “HEMISPHERES” released on October 29th ・October 14th – November 21st: North America #1 (29 shows) ・November 30th – December 31st: North America #2a (23 shows) ←★here★ [1979] ・January 3rd – February 7th: North America #2b (22 shows) ・February 15th – March 19th: North America #3 (24 shows) ・March 27th – April 15th: North America #4 (14 shows) ・April 23rd – June 4th: Europe (27 shows) A total of 139 shows. They played this many shows in about 8 months, so you can feel the momentum of the band trying to reach their peak just from the dates. “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” was the final “European” leg, but the Detroit performance of this work was the third performance of “North America # 2a”, which went back to the early days. In recent years, soundboard recordings have been unearthed from this show, attracting a lot of attention. The quality is a direct-connected soundboard with full vividness. Line recordings also have various personalities, but the super direct feeling of this work is a bit amazing. I don’t know the details, but the feeling of the sound is clearly recorded directly from the soundboard desk. While the cheers swirl in the distance, the singing voice and performance attack the ears naked. The left and right panning is also intense, and RUSH seems to climb into the brain with a dirty foot. Of course, the ensemble of the three people is super powerful and super clear, which is impossible. It’s like RUSH is in your brain, or rather, it’s a close and immersive feeling like the guitar strings and drum skins are trembling in your head. It’s a very intense soundboard, but the excavation master had a big drawback. It’s the pitch. So an overseas enthusiast accurately corrected the pitch and released a new upgraded version. This work is a CD version of the master produced by the enthusiast. The world of the extremely intense “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES” is depicted with an even more intense sound with accurate pitch. The SF masterpiece principle that reached its peak in the trilogy “2112”, “A FAREWELL TO KINGS” and “HEMISPHERES” is in full swing, and the masterpieces over 10 minutes, such as the major song “2112”, “Xanadu”, “Cygnus X-1”, “Cygnus X-1, Book II”, “La Villa Strangiato”, etc., are a raging rush. Moreover, these masterpieces are freed from the frame of each side of the LP, and the world is built up in a free song order. Moreover, as mentioned above, it is wonderful that it is the first half of the tour. The engine was warmed up sufficiently with “North America # 1”, and the stamina was restored by taking a nine-day break. From there, the tour resumed for the third performance… All the preparations were already in place, and the great performance that was inevitable was screwed into my ears with a direct-connected sound board. Another thing that was good about the first half of the tour was the set. In fact, there were songs that were not played during this tour. There are three songs: “Something for Nothing”, “Cygnus X-1”, and “Circumstances”, but this work is the maximum set in which all of them are played because it is the first half of the tour. In particular, “Circumstances” is a repertoire that could not be heard even in the great masterpiece “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT”. It is a live album that allows you to fully enjoy it with a direct-connected sound. To be honest, the wildness of the direct-connected sound board is about half a step behind the completely official “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT”. It has not yet reached the throne of the top of the tour, but that is why the power of the vivid ensemble is more tremendous in this work. On top of that, it is a masterpiece that you can enjoy up to “Circumstances”. A scorching hot and intense sound board that anyone who was moved by “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” should definitely touch.
