Description

The only one Japan tour in history was realized at the final stage of the “GRACE UNDER PRESSURE TOUR”. This tour is roughly divided into two parts, the first half from May to July 1984, after a month off, and the second half from July to November 1984. The main press 2CD “GRACE OF THE MASTER: OSAKA 1984” is not only a valuable record of the Japanese performance, but also a representative sound source of the latter half of the tour. This work was recorded on “Montreal, July 15, 1984”, a performance in RUSH’s home country. This day was just before the band’s off-day, and although it was the first half of the tour, they had played a full 40 shows since the first day of May. The level of proficiency in the performance is comparable to the performance in Japan. What is even more different than the performance is the set list and the audience. The Japan performance was one song shorter than the regular set, probably because it was the first Far East live, but in this work you can listen to “Afterimage”, which is a feature of the first half of the tour. The song was popular in Japan, but unfortunately, “Afterimage” was only played during the first half of the tour, and it was changed to “Kid Gloves” during the tour dates. At the Japanese performance, “Kid Gloves” also fell. At the time, Japanese record companies were running a telephone service where you could listen to new releases over the phone, and “Afterimage” was used for that purpose. I can finally listen to this memorable song along with the Japanese performance. Furthermore, what is different from the Japanese performance is the audience in my home country. The scale of the loud cheers that swells at every end of the song! In the main press 2CD, the super sound was wonderful because it was a quiet audience, but this excitement is the original RUSH. The sound of this work, where the musical tones penetrate straight through such excitement, is truly wonderful. After all, this work is the master of the analog boot “DISTANT EARLY WARNING”, which was once distributed as a sound board. This “DISTANT EARLY WARNING” contained only 8 songs, but in 2007, the complete version of Master Oomoto’s “CANADIAN PRESSURE” appeared and took the world by storm. This work is one that has been digitized again from the master and given the latest remastering. A one-time “RUSH in Japan”. Behind this all-too-special “historical singularity” was the atmosphere of the times. This is a great recording that makes you feel even more strongly the sense of the times.
