Description
This work contains 6 types, 16 songs, and approximately 70 minutes of superb footage. All of them are multi-camera professional shots from when he appeared on the famous West German TV program “MUSIKLADEN”. His performance history spans a wide range from 1972 to 1980, but can be roughly divided into three sections. Let’s quickly introduce each one individually. [1972-1973: Brian Eno Era (2 types, 5 songs)] First of all, the two types from the Eno era decorate the beginning. These are four songs: “Virginia Plain” from the performance in “1972 (date unknown)” immediately after their debut, and “May 30, 1973″, one month before Switzerland. When played, what comes out is completely official quality visual beauty. The quality approaches that of Switzerland, but the impact of the contents is also amazing. The costumes are different in the two performances, and both performances are full of glam, with Andy Mackay wearing green as usual, Eno in a crow costume, and Bryan Ferry singing passionately as Regent, making a great impact. They also performed “Do The Strand” and “Re-Make/Re-Model,” which they had not performed in Switzerland, making it a 5-song, approximately 25-minute song that could be called a “sequel.” [1974: Eddie Jobson Era (2 types, 8 songs)] Next comes the Eddie Jobson era after Eno left. The performance was on January 24, 1974 (5 songs), about three months after the release of “STRANDED,” and the performance was on November 13, 1974, two days before the release of “COUNTRY LIFE” (3 songs). . The “STRANDED” era still retains its glam feel, but Ferry & McKay have become much more sophisticated. Ferry wears a dandy outfit with his hair down and a bow tie and white tuxedo, while McKay also wears a suit, completely different from the green monster. The biggest highlight of this work is the three songs from the “COUNTRY LIFE” era. John Wetton is playing bass here! The sight of him sharing the stage with his ally Jobson, who would go on to form U.K., is a sight to behold, and after all, his burbling, obscenely powerful bass sound is matched by none other than Wetton. “All I Want Is You” and “If It Takes All Night”, which cannot be heard on the official live album “VIVA!”, are also treasure videos that can be enjoyed with Wetton’s bass. [1980: “FLESH AND BLOOD” era (2 types, 2 songs)] The last section is from the “FLESH AND BLOOD” era, where time has advanced considerably. There are two songs in total, “Over You” and “Oh Yeah” from the performances on “June 19, 1980” and “October 9, 1980”. At this point, the glam color is gone and it’s completely new wave mode. You can listen to sparkling synth pop in a refreshing and stylish way. Another point is that neither of these two songs can be seen in the official video “THE HIGH ROAD”. “Over You” is an extremely rare song that has only been played a handful of times. Above is a collection of completely official professional shots of 6 types and approximately 70 minutes. There are no duplications in all 16 songs, and this is a video work that tells the history of ROXY MUSIC with an eloquence that goes beyond a hundred words.
