Description
ROUGH CUTT, which produced the famous husky-voiced singer Paul Shortino and ran through the LA metal era, is here with a soundboard album that will let you hear their live performance in your brain. This work was recorded at the Reading Festival on August 23, 1986. It is a stereo soundboard recording of their performance at the iconic British summer festival. Their first UK live performance was at the Marquee Club in 1984, but that was before their debut, when they were still semi-professional. It was their first visit to the UK as an album artist, and it was also the end of their heyday. This is a good opportunity to look back on their heyday, which ended in a bubble, including their two memorable visits to Japan. 1985 February 11th “ROUGH CUTT” released March 20th – May 17th: North America #1 (26 shows) August 11th: Super Rock ’85 appearance August 13th – December 27th: North America #2 (62 shows) 1986 July 7th “WANTS YOU!” released August 23rd + 26th: UK (2 shows) ←★here★ September 20th: Denver show October 11th: Puerto Rico show November 8th – December 26th: North America #3 (9 shows) 1987 January 28th – 31st: Japan (3 shows) ←※TOKYO 1987 Paul Shortino leaves the band and is replaced by Pellimore McCarty October 4th: Shortino appears in JAPAN AID as QUIET RIOT 2 appearances》・October 20-November 14: North America #4 (3 performances)《ROUGH CUTT disbanded》This is the journey from debut to disbandment. Their records are still limited, so it is difficult to say that the above is everything, but I think you can understand the general flow. In this way, ROUGH CUTT’s career was mostly occupied in North America, their main battlefield, but in between, they also advanced to Japan and the UK. Shortino decided to leave the band during the “Japan” tour in early 1987. In October of the same year, he returned to Japan as the frontman of QUIET RIOT. In this way, their overseas performances are very rare. In particular, their appearance at the “Reading Festival” in this work was a highlight stage that could be called the “British version of Super Rock ’85” for their career. Such a historic show was broadcast on the BBC’s famous program “Friday Rock Show”. It is also known that one of the few sound boards of ROUGH CUTT in its prime was left behind, and this work is a new master that has raised the peak of its peak. Its true identity is the 1st generation cassette released by the famous collector “GManOF”. In fact, the sound is just superb. To be honest, there were many disappointing masters who made the previous versions look tattered and sloppy, but this time it’s different. The freshness is wonderful with almost no dubbing marks, and the clear atmosphere and crisp performance sound stand out even in the subtleties of the subtleties. The 1st generation sound depicts the crystallization of the heyday of ROUGH CUTT, condensing two albums. Perhaps because it was a festival appearance, the time is quite limited at about 40 minutes, but it is also very rich. Let’s organize the contents here. Rough Cut (4 songs) Kids Will Rock (★) / Dressed To Kill / Piece Of My Heart / Cutt Your Heart Out Want You (6 songs) Rock The USA / Don’t Settle For Less (★) / Let ‘Em Talk / Bad Reputation / We Like It Loud / Double Trouble *Note: The ★ mark indicates songs that could not be heard on the official album “LIVE”. …And so it is. The repertoire of the first 20 songs was on two albums, but at Reading it was condensed to 10 songs for one album. Speaking of live performances in the 1980s, there is also the official excavation album “LIVE”, but this work also features “Kids Will Rock”, which could not be heard there. And not only the set but also the performance is rich. Since it is a famous festival in a foreign country, the enthusiasm is amazing, and because it is short, the tension of sprinting does not break from beginning to end. It will directly pour into your brain the super-rich stage of the career high where all conditions rolled in the right direction. This is a soundboard album of ROUGH CUTT in their prime, which has reached the same level as the official “LIVE” with the 1st generation cassette treasured by “GManOF”. This is an absolute must-have album that should be made into an official deluxe edition in a two-disc set with “WANTS YOU!”. A stereo soundboard recording of the “Reading Festival performance on August 23, 1986”. This is the 1st generation master released by the famous collector “GManOF”, and is a superb product comparable to the official excavation “LIVE”. This is an absolute soundboard album with “Kids Will Rock” that cannot be heard in the official work and the explosive tension of facing a famous foreign festival.
