Description

This is a masterpiece that is the culmination of Rory Gallagher’s solo career. However, the Minneapolis performance that became that unit is also known for leaving a wonderful audience shot. Therefore, here is a video edition that gives you a glimpse of the “other side” of this historic masterpiece live album. This work includes “March 20, 1991 Minneapolis Performance”. This is an upgraded version that synchronizes the best soundboard of 2CD with the audience shot. I’ll leave the splendor of the sound to the commentary in the main story, but the sights are also quite wonderful. This is a direct shot from the arena seats on the first floor, and the bold zoom and master freshness are exquisite. For the first three songs, the entire band is shot from a distance, taking up about 1/5 of the screen, but perhaps it was just practice up to that point, and from the fourth song, “The Loop,” it zooms in quickly, and Rory’s waist up can be seen on the screen. Close to full. Until then, Rory’s face is white and blank, but after zooming in, you can see his passionate expression and the movement of his hands dancing on the fingerboard. And freshness. Although it is not confirmed as a strict generation, it is probably digitized from the 1st generation of the original 8mm video master. As a result, there are minimal dubbing marks and the colors are vivid. Although it cannot be said that “image quality is at the naked eye level!” due to the analog image quality, it is a realistic visual beauty that vividly brings back the memories of that last performance in Japan. Of course, what elevates the image several steps is the superb sound board. In fact, a version with a conventional sound board has been on the market before, but this work synchronizes the audio of the upgraded main press 2CD. Improving the audio is directly connected to increasing the spectacle, and Rory’s flailing performance makes the performance feel even hotter. What is even more noticeable in the video is Jerry McAvoy’s presence. The camera work continues to follow Rory, but he frequently makes eye contact with McAvoy, and Brendan O’Neill and Mark Feltman adjust their timing around McAvoy. Rory’s guitar is undoubtedly leading the show, but it is McAvoy who holds the rhythm section together and is the keystone of the entire ensemble. It vividly depicts how important McAvoy is to Lolly Music, and the band structure that has been cultivated over 20 years. Rory Gallagher was touring the world with his posthumous studio work “FRESH EVIDENCE.” This is a video work that allows you to witness the scene of the final US tour. A piece that upgrades the vivid visual beauty of the 1st generation with the finest sound board.
