Description
From the US tour of the 1976 “Calling Card” release period, the Royal Oak, Michigan performance on November 3rd was recorded in full for 1 hour and 30 minutes with a superb level of high quality audience recording. The new master of the JEMS sound source, which has released a series of treasured ultra-high quality sound sources alongside Dan Lampinski, delighting fans all over the world, is used. This is exactly what sound board level is, and although it is recorded with an amazingly loud and direct sound, there is no distortion in the sound, so you can enjoy an energetic live performance with a clear sound that can be said to be exceptional for this era. The sound is also recorded thickly, the freshness of the sound is outstanding, and the balance of the sound including the vocals is wonderful, and the guitar solo in particular is recorded with the optimal sound image, so you can experience the greatest excitement mainly in the instrumental part. The flaw is in the fourth track, Country Mile, where the recorder’s record states that there was a problem with the microphone cable, and it is true that there was an intermittent sound cut at the 2nd minute, which is unfortunate. The tape change is in the second half of Too Much Alcohol, and that part is unpaid. However, apart from the above flaws, as mentioned above, it is the highest peak sound for an audience recording at that time, and the performance of the entire band, full of momentum, is recorded with great power from start to finish, and it is definitely a must-listen and must-have for fans. At a live performance just after the release of the new album “Calling Card”, Country Mile, Secret Agent, and Jacknife Beat were selected from the album. Jacknife Beat features Lou Martin’s piano, which makes it fresh to listen to. The sound quality is originally good, but the sound after the acoustic part of Out On The Western Plain and the return to the electric band from Messin’ With The Kid is even more wonderful, and fans can enjoy the supreme time (it’s as good as an official live performance). Along with the previously released high quality Lampinski recording “Calling From Boston,” this is the definitive 1976 audience recording! Must-listen! Live at Royal Oak Theatre, Royal Oak, MI.
