Rolling Stones/TX,USA 1972 & more

This is the fourth installment in the series that couples two precious performances from the 1972 US tour. This time, it is a coupling of the soundboard live of the famous Fort Worth and Pittsburgh performances, which have been released by the VGP label in the past. First, disc 1 contains the evening performance in Fort Worth on June 24th. This performance was multi-track recorded for the movie “Ladies & Gentlemen”, and is a high-quality stereo sound source with the guitar separated on the left and right. Also, “BITCH”, “BAND INTRODUCTION”, and “RIP THIS JOINT” are used in the movie, and you should check out the set-in of Chuck Berry’s “DON’T LIE TO ME”. Note that while the sound sources such as VGP’s “FORT WORTH EXPRESS” were equalized with a fairly high-pitched tone, this time the master at the time of distribution of the original sound source is used, and the sound is clear without excessive digital noise. Furthermore, the July 22nd Pittsburgh performance on disc 2 is also a label original recording from VGP, just like “PITTSBURGH 1972” and “THE ROYAL DRAGON”, but unlike the Fort Worth performance, this one is a stereo soundboard recording directly connected to the mixing desk at the live venue. Therefore, because it is a one-take live mix, it is full of tension compared to the Fort Worth performance, which was mixed down in a studio, and compared to the past releases which were also overly equalized, this one is reproduced in good quality with careful smoothing and no distortion. The best live performance from Mick Taylor’s heyday in the best quality.
