The EP “The Rolling Stones” was released in January 1964 and “Five By Five” was released in August 1964. I think everyone knows that the former has the same title as the first album (released in April of the same year) but has different content. The latter is an EP containing recordings made at Chicago Chess Studio in June after the release of the first album. Now, it’s strange that only three Stones EPs have been released: “The Rolling Stones,” “Five By Five,” and “got LIVE if you want it!” This is in stark contrast to the Beatles, for example, who have released many EPs containing excerpts from albums and combinations of single songs. Although only 3 discs were released, all the songs are “included” only on this EP, so it’s no wonder that it’s a must-have item for collectors. Currently, this EP version has been reproduced in a single box, but we have been particular about the original “sound” and have reproduced it as much as possible using the finest discs.
