Rolling Stones/Still Life US Original LP Ver.

STILL LIFE UK Original LP with UK Singles, which used the original UK version that was very popular, is now available as an item using the original US version. As I wrote in the commentary for the UK version, the US version also has a charm that is hard to throw away. That’s because this original US version is the Bob Ludwig cut, commonly known as the “RL version.” If you listen to it and compare it with the gift item using the UK version, you will notice that the cutting is clearly louder. This is a live album, so I’m happy with this cut. I think what became a hot topic on this album (tour) was that Under My Thumb and Time Is On My Side were recorded (performed) for the first time since Got Live If You Want It!. This return to basics may have increased expectations for his visit to Japan. Now, the song selection for this tour was selected from songs from Tattoo You and Emotional Rescue, and it is no wonder that Start Me Up, which was both a new song and a hit single at the time, was placed at the end. As bonus tracks, stereo and monaural versions of Going To A Go-Go and Time Is On My Side from the US promo editions are included as bonus tracks. This is now a collection of valuable items and versions. Let me explain this a little bit. First up is Going To A Go Go’s Stereo/Mono. Bob Ludwig, who cut the Stereo version for the US version, also did the cutting for this Stereo side. Powerful and extremely sharp, the sound is a dignified ‘RL’ stamp! Although the Mono side does not have the ‘RL’ stamp, it produces a mix with a bass sound that is on par with the Stereo side. The Stereo side of the following Time Is On My Side also does not have the “RL” stamp, but it is clearly engraved with the stamp of MASTERDISK, a New York sound studio that can be said to be a purveyor of Bob Ludwig and Bob Clearmountain, who was in charge of mixing. It has a sharp, soft sound. And on the Mono side, the direction has changed a bit, giving it a rounder, gentle sound similar to the 60’s Mono disc. This is also engraved with the MASTERDISK stamp (Going To A Go Go is engraved on both sides). Also, with the promo version of Time Is On My Side, it seems that the Stones label’s promotion-only Stereo/Mono single version has ended.
