There is no doubt that Still Life, the live album from the 1981 US tour, has a special existence for Stones fans in Japan. Not only was it released quickly in anticipation of the 1982 European tour, but expectations for its first visit to Japan were extremely high. TV even aired programs in which famous hosts and even rock-and-rollers traveled to Europe and conducted interviews there. Now, the UK original version and US original version using the live version Still Life have been very popular. As for its popularity, I am acutely aware that the 1981/82 tour was a special existence for Stones fans in Japan. Now, this album was released in 1982, but it was released on CD in the US in 1983. In addition, picture discs were also released for the US and UK editions. It is also now available as an SACD. However, on the other hand, after transferring to CBS, I get the impression that reissues on analog discs are not considered very important. It was finally reissued in analog form in 1987 in the US and in 1989, perhaps in preparation for the 1990 tour in the UK and Europe. However, in this era, CDs had become the main music media in the world, and there were no domestic analog reissues. I remember seeing it on the US version, but I guess not many fans saw it on the UK/Europe version. The jacket was also changed to single use, and the innerwear was not included with the US version, but was included with the UK version, which was barely reproduced in black and white. Maybe not many fans went out of their way to buy this. . . Now, regarding the UK editions of that era, the analog editions of Stones label works were a mix of UK editions and European editions, and were released in the midst of changing times. However, there is a UK press version of Still Life. However, when you drop the needle on the disc, a startling sound comes out. Whether you use a CD master or an analog master directly, you will get a really clean and loud sound. This is a surprise. I don’t think this is due to the fact that there is now an archive version containing the entire tour, but analog versions of Still Life have not been released since the UK version in 1989. There is no analog version of the heavy-duty version that was digitally remastered without being included in an analog box. Rather, the high sound quality makes it seem unnecessary if you have this 1989 UK edition. The album contains four representative songs from the 1960s, four from the last three albums, and two new cover songs (surprisingly, the entire album includes four cover songs!). It’s good. Taken from the 1989 UK CBS Reissue record (Rolling Stones Records, 450204 1) (40:33) 1. Take The A Train 2. Under My Thumb 3. Let’s Spend The Night Together 4. Shattered 5. Twenty Flight Rock 6.
