Description
The previously popular “STEEL WHEELS US 7 INCH SINGLES” is back with a new jacket. As with the last release, we have once again traced the original US discs, which are in excellent condition. You can enjoy the three original singles and sounds released in the US from “STEEL WHEELS”, which can be said to be the end of analog! After the European tour in 1982, Mick and Keith entered a long Cold War era, which is a well-known episode even for non-fans. Although studio albums were released, no tours were held, and each released a solo album and, although limited, a live tour was held. After such a period, in 1989, the Stones released their first album in three years, Steel Wheels, as the second album after their complete transfer to CBS, and toured the US for the first time in eight years, and finally made their long-awaited first visit to Japan the following year. Now, Steel Wheels was an album released during a period of change in the music industry. It was released at a time when music software was completely transitioning from analog records to CDs. Music fans who remember when this album was released will remember that Steel Wheels was released in various forms on CD. A wide variety of items were released as CDs, including limited edition CDs in steel cases, single songs also sealed in steel cans, and paper sleeves. In the shadows, 7-inch and 12-inch singles were also released in the United States and Europe. However, records, which were destined to disappear during this period, demonstrated amazing power. The records of this album from this era sounded extremely good. There is no way to know the reason now. Was it the last stubbornness of the record craftsmen on the scene, or a coincidence due to the development of technology? Among such analog records, the one that is highly rated is called the DMM cutting record. The matrix part of the US single record used for the gift item introduced this time also has DMM handwritten stamped on it. It is said to be an abbreviation for Direct Metal Mastering, a high-quality cutting technology developed in Germany. Of course, these vinyl records with the DMM stamp are very popular today. The items featured in this issue are three singles released in the US from Steel Wheels. Perhaps symbolizing the disappearance of records, these US singles no longer came with picture threes at the time of release. Also, as you will likely be familiar with, tracks 1 and 3 are single versions, while tracks 2 and 4 are session-style blues numbers not featured on the album (track 6 is an album track, but is also a session-style blues number).
