Description

Following the huge bestseller “1969”, this time we finally have a compilation album that summarizes the soundboard recordings from the 1972 American tour. Since the 1969 tour was released, it is inevitable that the next one will be in 1972. Regarding this tour, it is known as a treasure trove of sound boards such as the classic masterpieces “PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL” and “WELCOME TO NEW YORK CITY”, as well as the previously released Fort Worth and Pittsburgh. This tour was originally intended for the release of a live album, and many performances were recorded as multi-track stereo soundboard recordings. However, the project fell apart due to contract issues regarding the use of songs from the Decca era. What was broadcast on the radio using part of it became the source of the previous “PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL”, and even more rough mix sound sources were leaked. These sound sources have penetrated among enthusiasts due to the masterpiece titles mentioned above, but there are other leaked sound sources. The culmination of all of these has appeared under the name “PLUG IN FLUSH OUT” since the LP era, and items that carry this title and concept continue to be released on CD. While the volume of these culmination titles is certainly attractive as a collector’s item, it is also true that from a listening standpoint, they can be tiring to listen to. As evidence of this, individual titles for each performance are now preferred over collections (of course), and the titles mentioned above are highly popular. As each performance title is touted, it is natural that the remaining various sound board leaked sound sources will be blown away. Just like “1969”, this time it will be released under the concept of carefully summarizing such sound sources. Of the two discs, the first one is “MORE PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL”, which is a collection of material that was not included in “PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL” from the Philadelphia soundboard recording. This concept was also used in TSP’s “PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL II” in the past, and if you only listen to the sound source, you can also hear it on the “PLUG IN FLUSH OUT” LP. However, this time we thoroughly reviewed the pitch and equalization of the sound source. Not overlooking even the slightest distortion in the sound, and even adding the cheers heard in the same day’s sound source to the gaps between songs that tend to be found in leaked sound sources, this is the best “Firaspe” that has been completed to a state that does not feel out of place as a live album. It became a sequel. The series of “Firaspe” sound sources are basically rough mixes, so even the stereo sound board recording is slightly different from the official one. However, due to the various adjustments made in this release, you can enjoy it with a sense of stability that is incomparable to past releases. On the other hand, the second disc includes video-related soundboard recordings in the first half, as can be seen from the fact that the opening song is “BROWN SUGAR” on MSG, which was broadcast on the American TV program Dick Cavett Show. . After all, it is a performance at its peak, so the sound quality where the punch of the performance is amplified by monaural sound is enough to listen to. For example, “Sweet Virginia” is the same performance as the first disc, but it is also monaural and has a completely different impression, making it a finish that can be fully enjoyed as a differential mix of live sound sources. It even covers “Jumping Jack Flash” in Canada, which was broadcast on a news program (albeit with a short edit), and is sure to impress enthusiasts. In the middle, we have compiled the leaked sound source of the stereo sound board that is different from the first one, but “Midnight Rambler” can be heard from the take from the first show, not from the second show, which is familiar in Fort Worth. This spectacular performance is a symbol of the tour that is called “Rock and Roll Dynamite” by enthusiasts. It was so passionate that I wanted to call it a divine performance. This masterpiece was easily overshadowed by various famous titles, so if you are hearing it for the first time, please be overwhelmed by the intense development and intensity of the performance. The second half of the second album concentrates on takes that were being worked on for the live album that was supposed to be released. For example, songs such as “Tumbling Dice” have a powerful tone with a lot of overdub feel due to the way Mick sings, and Keith added harmonies all the time, which was re-recorded with a vocal arrangement that would not have been possible on an actual stage. I understand what was going on. In other words, it shows that the release work done on “GET YER YA-YA’S OUT!” from the 1969 tour was inherited. The sound source that was used for this live album is also a famous sound source, with various releases under the name “KEEP YOUR MOTOR RUNNIN'”, but this time we will use the most natural version, This is also a thorough adjustment of pitch and sound quality. Versions with such natural sound quality have tended to be overlooked in recent years, so even enthusiasts who are familiar with the previous title will find it surprisingly refreshing. For enthusiasts who have listened to the various masterpieces from the 1972 tour mentioned above, there has never been a two-disc compilation that is so useful. Yet, the editing content touches on the areas you are itching to touch. At the end, each take was thoroughly overhauled to create a flawless “Another Side of Philaspe.” Of course, the jacket has a special design with a black and white photo and a star. Please call this “Moaspe”! ★The concept is a 1972 sound that does not overlap with the individual boot masterpieces such as VGP “Philadelphia Special”, “Pittsburg 1972”, “Fort Worth 1972 2nd Show” and “Welcome To New York”, and the official “Ladies And Gentleman” This is a collection of boards. Even if the songs overlap, they are all mixed differently. Soundboard Recordings from 1972 Tour Disc 1 (79:20) 1. Brown Sugar (Spectrum Sports Arena, Philadelphia 20th July) 2.
