Description
To commemorate the release of the 1973 Glasgow New Source, which has been released for the first time in 42 years, we will release the sound source that was previously considered to be the first day of Glasgow on September 16th. Judging from Mick’s first MC, the new source this time is probably the 16th, the first day of Glasgow. London, Newcastle, and Birmingham have two shows a day, but the show starts at 5pm and 8pm, while Glasgow starts at 7:30pm on the ticket photo, so it is unlikely that there were two shows a day, so perhaps the sound source that was said to be the 16th is actually the 17th. (In the new source, the first MC says “I’m glad to be back in Glasgow,” but in this old Glasgow source, it’s a relatively simple greeting. Compared to the new source, the sound is bad, but it was released on a press CD in the past, so it’s actually a pretty “listenable” sound source. Although the sound image is unclear, the freshness of the sound is certain (seems), so it’s a sound that can be “listened to”. If you do a strange equalization with this, you’ll lose even more interest in listening, but since you haven’t done that at all, you can enjoy listening to this. Mick’s vocals sound real, and the band’s performance is not so good that you “don’t know what you’re doing,” and you can feel the band’s groove firmly. You can also listen to Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, which was not played on the first day. The fairly serious tape defects in the first half of Brown Sugar, which were caused by the master, have been adjusted as much as possible to make it easier to listen to. The cut in the song is You Can’t Always Get What You It is at 7:21 in “Want”, but the rest is almost complete. There is plenty of sound pressure. The pitch of the whole recording has been carefully corrected, making this the provisional definitive version of the same day. Live at Apollo Theatre, Glasgow, Scotland 17th September 1973 (78:33) 1.
