Description

From everyone’s favorite Europe 73, that Glasgow reissue will be realized. “GLASGOW APOLLO 1973″, released in 2015, received a lot of attention as the first Odin recording from such a popular and peak tour, and it was a masterpiece that quickly sold out. The excavation of this sound source was also a historical excavation, as it was discovered that the sound source, which had been thought to be from September 16, 1973, was actually a recording of the next day’s stage. If it were a 1973 sound source, even if it was of a vintage audience quality, it would have been appreciated by enthusiasts as a record of the peak tour. However, the sound quality of the original sound source discovered in 2015 is quite excellent. The original sound quality is monaural, so if you listen to it with headphones, it may sound flat. In that respect, it is certain that the sound quality suddenly stands out as a speaker. At the time of its release in 2015, the sound source that appeared was thoroughly restored, and adjustments were made with a focus on pitch deviations. Therefore, regarding the main sound source, it is a straight reissue of the 2015 version. Some weak cuts cannot be compensated for because there is no other sound source. On the other hand, it is not in a recording state that would be described as “like a soundboard,” but it has a tight and moderate sense of distance that is unique to concert halls, which are different from arenas and stadiums, and it captures the performance in a well-balanced manner. Excellent level. For that reason, there are many wonderful moments that make you breathe in the atmosphere of the day and say, “As expected of Europe 73.” First of all, Mick Taylor plays an excellent interlude of “Gimme Shelter”, a specialty of Europe 73. Even before we get there, it makes me shiver from the fact that some phrases are already set up in the background of Mick’s song. Furthermore, in the first half of the set, “Tumbling Dice”, which Mick had heard a tremendous shout every night, was also in great condition on this day. Continuing their strong performance, they sang “Angie” with a solid original melody. And on “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” Mick incites the band, and Glasgow’s true 16th sound source shines everywhere with famous scenes typical of Europe 73. By the way, this reissue is a great opportunity.By coupling the next day’s sound source, it is not just a reissue, but a convenient two-disc CD release of 73 Glasgow Two Days, which has never been seen before. will be realized. If you are a maniac who has heard the second day’s sound source that has been around for a while, the already released version “GLASGOW 1973” and Gi “GLASGOW 1973 2ND NIGHT”, you will understand, but this one really wants to be described as a vintage audience. Taste. Having said that, the performance as a whole is well captured and powerful. However, when it comes to songs with a higher tempo after “Happy”, the whole thing feels like a dumpling, and in that respect, to borrow the words from the previous release, you could call it an “analog boot chick.” Fortunately, however, throughout the performance there are very few instances where I hear a lot of chatter or applause from those around me. In fact, the excitement during “Honky Tonk Women” is enough to make me cringe. Of course, it can’t be called quality for everyone like the previous day, but it is also true that enthusiasts can enjoy it without any problems. Moreover, there are many enthusiasts who have been waiting for the reissue of “GLASGOW 1973”, which is said to be the best in terms of sound quality. As you can see, the sound is a bit clogged throughout the recording, but the peak performance typical of Europe 73 is clearly transmitted here as well. Especially when it comes to Mick’s singing, there are many more hyper scenes than the previous day. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” is a wonderful performance that combines his shout and Mick Taylor’s flowing phrases. This flow continues in “Midnight Rambler”, but it is too spectacular, such as Mick repeating at the ending. The same song was a great performance the day before, but showing different expressions on each stage is why Europe 73 is called the climax. Best of all, thanks to the package that combines the two days of 73 Glasgow for the first time in history, you can easily and thoroughly enjoy such listening comparisons. Starting with Mick, I can’t help but be surprised that the Stones here were mass producing hyper performances day after day. The 16th is a good audience and the 17th is a vintage audience. Please enjoy Europe 73’s further masterpiece Glasgow to your heart’s content with the long-awaited coupling for enthusiasts!
