Description

The best version released at the time of the transfer, which can be said to be a specialty of the Stones label, has been introduced so far using the original analog version. And this time we will introduce “Rewind (1971-1984)”, which was released by Atlantic in North America and EMI in other countries at the time of the complete transfer to CBS. You may be thinking, “Isn’t it just the best?”, but it’s absolutely true. This “Rewind 1971-1984” is quite the best song. The reason is that the LPs and cassettes distributed by Atlantic, the LPs and cassettes distributed by EMI in other countries (CDs are also available in Japan), and the cassettes all contain different songs and in different order. “Well, it’s the best of the past, so isn’t it unnecessary now? ” Many people may think that. However, there is a way to have some fun there. The edited version of “Emotional Rescue”, which was edited to about 3 minutes and 40 seconds, is included on the EMI-distributed cassette disc, which has the largest number of songs. This time, we reproduced it using the cassette tape distributed by EMI. This is not a digitally remastered sound source like today’s, so you can enjoy the analog sound quality that is unique to cassette tapes. The re-release from CBS seems to have adopted the song order of the US Atlantic cassette. This cassette is currently difficult to obtain, so it is considered a valuable item. In the days when cassette tapes were commonly distributed, there were also best-of-the-best editions and live editions that were only available on cassette tapes. After all, the recording time was different from the LP record, so there may have been a unique project like that. As a bonus track, the US promotional single “Emotional Rescue”, which was released in advance of the album of the same name on June 14, 1980 and reached number 9 on the UK charts and number 3 on the US charts, is included. It became a smash hit, reaching number 9 on the UK charts and number 3 on the US charts. The album was also the first since “Goat’s Head Soup” to reach number 1 in both the UK and US. All members of the Stones participated in the recording of this song. However, it seems that Ronnie plays the bass and Bill plays the synthesizer. As you know, the song itself is a disco-style song that follows in the footsteps of the big hit song from the previous album, “Miss You.” Now, this US promo version has a long (album) version on one side, and a short version edited to be shorter than 1 minute for broadcasting on the other side. “See So Cold”, which was released in September 1980 as the second single from “Emotional Rescue” and ranked 33rd on the UK charts and 26th on the US charts, was also released on the US-only promotion 7-inch God Damn. Version and Cleaned Up Version are included. The vinyl we used this time is of course a disc in excellent condition, so you can enjoy the high-quality sound that is unique to a 7-inch US promo record. Now, 3 versions of “Emotional Rescue” will be recorded in a row, each with a different version. This means that we have reproduced three different types of “Emotional Rescue” from the Stones label.
