Description
The second compilation of rare tracks selected from 1963 to 1974 has been released from a must-have label for Stones fans, with the latest remastering. This second series includes 41 songs, including alternate versions, unreleased songs, demos, TV studio live performances, and PV versions, selected in almost chronological order from 1963 when the band debuted to 1974 when Mick Taylor was still with the band. All of the tracks that have been included in various compilations so far have been newly compiled with the latest remastering in 2024, including stereo demixes from the 60s mono and upgraded sound sources. Of course, all of the tracks included in the first series were recorded in different versions, and the selection this time was made from sound sources that could only be heard in mono mixes, and was recorded in a stereo demix that was re-edited into real stereo by multi-track analysis. The previously known sound sources have also been newly edited into stereo, and the remixes are clearer than the existing sound sources, making them upgraded in quality. For example, the debut single “Come On” and early unreleased songs, as well as officially unreleased tracks such as “Satisfaction (Early Take)”, “Paint It Black”, “Mother’s Little Helper”, and “Yesterday’s Paper”, as well as “Gimme Shelter”, where Keith’s vocals were buried, can be clearly heard due to the separation effect of stereo demix. In addition, the recordings of studio live shows and PVs aired on TV from the 60s to the 70s are attracting attention as alternate versions with different vocals and performances, and all of these recordings, which were mono at the time, have been re-edited into stereo demix. As a result, the quality of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, “Sympathy for the Devil”, “A Heartless World”, “Honky Tonk Women”, “Brown Sugar”, etc. has been significantly improved, and “Angie” and “It’s Only Rock’n’Roll” are also available in clear versions due to stereo conversion. The previously unreleased tracks from the 70s, “Drift Away” and “Living in the Heart of Love,” are newly remastered from their original mixes, which differ from the later official remixes. Many of the above stereo demixes are available for the first time, and this limited collector’s edition includes “VAULTS I” and other upcoming titles. Disc 1 : 1.
