Description
A great title for Stones enthusiasts that combines two types of professional shot footage produced at the end of the 1998 Babylon Tour! The Babylon tour in 1998 had an unusual schedule that was unthinkable from previous Stones tours as the UK tour was postponed to the following year. As a result, the 1998 tour ended with a tour of Northern Europe, which is an interesting development. The Stones will conclude their 1998 activities in Scandinavia…Maybe because of that thought, it was an indescribably luxurious situation that two types of professional shot videos existed in various places in a short period of time on this tour. First up is the Poland performance on August 14th. Originally, it was one of the standard pro shot videos from the 1998 tour, but perhaps because of the location in Poland, the image quality was rough and the audio was monaural compared to 1998 TV footage, which made it difficult to see. It was also the day when the definitive edition did not appear despite its popularity. Under such circumstances, “BRIDGES TO POLAND”, which was released ten years ago, received high praise in specialized magazines as the best title that finally appeared, and it was so well received that it has since appeared again. This time, the video has been remastered using the latest technology, and as a result, the dark image quality that can be described as this video has been instantly resolved, and it has been reborn in a state with a good outlook that even those who own previous titles will want to buy a new one. . As for the audio, the sound quality, which was monaural and had a narrow range, has been properly equalized. The video, which has been reborn in superior condition, has been polished to make it even easier to view. Although it does not reach the same level of quality as Bremen, which is a classic pro shot from the summer of 1998, this is a must-see for enthusiasts who thought that “98 Poland is like that even if it is easier to see” even with previous releases. Check out the upgraded version! This second disc includes the 1998 grand finale performance in Istanbul on September 19th. This is known as a professional shot video that broadcasts about 60% of the live performance, but this may be due to the location, but the image quality and monaural sound are even rougher than in Poland, so it has been overlooked even by enthusiasts until now. That’s what I was doing. The fact that an item with audio extracted from it was released before the video itself was released may be a testament to the special presence of the video. After that, the video itself finally became popular, but the unique image quality, which is rough and pale in color, is probably the nostalgic PAL conversion quality that reminds us of the days of video. In particular, the whitish hue was a factor that made this video difficult to watch, and this release shows a considerable improvement by remastering it with the latest technology. What’s more, the triple-damaging sound, which was crushed to monaural, cracked, and had intense hiss noise, has been thoroughly cleaned up, achieving a level of stability that is incomparable to previous versions. Of course, it is an incomplete recording and compared to Poland, this is a video for enthusiasts, but even though it is such a video, for enthusiasts who want to have professional shots and DVDs, this is a long-awaited release. After all, the image quality is better than that of Poland, and we highly recommend it as the definitive version of Istanbul that has finally arrived. What both of these performances have in common is that both can be seen and heard at a time when they are approaching a year since the start of the tour. Even so, it cannot be overlooked that the songs from the then new album “BRIDGES TO BABYLON” are literally getting excited. Mick should not be happy about this situation, and his passionate singing in “Saint Of Me” and “Out Of Control” stands out in both cases. However, during the Istanbul live show, Mick’s singing at the end of the song, such as “Start Me Up,” was completely different, and he sounded tired, which may be typical of Mick, who has been suffering from poor health since the beginning of the year. . However, Keith’s “Thief In The Night” played in Istanbul is also wonderful, and both videos convey the spirit of the number from “BRIDGES TO BABYLON”. Please enjoy the upgraded version of the rare professional shot video at the end of such a tour.
