Description

The 2021 version of the “NO FILTER Tour” has attracted worldwide attention, but is struggling with recording issues. A full live album that will eliminate that frustration has been decided to be released. This work records the “Charlotte performance on September 30, 2021”. It is an audience recording that conveys the second performance of the 2021 tour. Its quality is… difficult to describe in a word. This is because this work is a live album produced by combining multiple recordings. Although “different recordings for each song” is a familiar technique in official live albums, it is rare for an audience recording of one performance. The reason why such a technique was adopted is due to the excavation situation of the recording. If you are an avid collector, you may already know this, but the 2021 version of the “NO FILTER Tour” is by no means blessed with recordings. The first day’s St. Louis performance was suddenly recorded as the best, but perhaps because of the high hurdle, or perhaps it was just a coincidence, the full recording (at a level that can be enjoyed as a live album) has not appeared since the second performance. However, Stones enthusiasts were not content with such a situation. “If there is no full recording, just make one,” and live albums combining audience recordings on a song-by-song basis began to be produced and released. After all, today is an age where all audience members use their smartphones to take homemade audience photos and publish them on the Internet. If it is a single song, there is a huge amount of material without any trouble. However, there is a difference in the degree of completion of any method. This work is not only a Charlotte performance, but it is a work that is being talked about for its completeness. First of all, the sound of each song is good. Of course, it is different for each song, so you can’t say “the sense of distance is ○○” or “the sound is ◇◇”, but overall it is more than a masterpiece. With all 19 songs being performed, it is difficult to make all of them sound good. What makes this work stand out from other edited works is the precision of the editing. It is not just a line-up of recordings, but if there are gaps between songs or MCs, they find other recordings, connect them, and carefully finish the connections (of course, the MC in memory of Charlie is also included). Since it is not possible to compare it with the original recording, I cannot say for sure, but I think the sound quality is probably also aligned by mastering. Although it is not completely incongruous, it is a different level of naturalness from works that are simply lined up. Such a soulful edit depicts the whole view of the Charlotte performance that has not been enjoyed until now. Let’s organize the contents here. Fixed songs: Tumbling Dice/19th Nervous Breakdown/You Can’t Always Get What You Want/Living In A Ghost Town/Start Me Up/Honky Tonk Women/Miss You/Midnight Rambler/Paint It Black/Sympathy For The Devil/Jumping Jack Flash/Gimme Shelter/(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction Daily songs: Keith Corner: Before They Make Me Run (★)/Slipping Away Others: Street Fighting Man/Let’s Spend the Night Together (★)/Troubles a’ Comin (★)/Let It Bleed (★) *Note: The above is composed of set information up to the Los Angeles performance (10/17). The “★” mark indicates a song that will be making its first appearance in 2021. …And so it goes. The four songs that were not performed at the St. Louis performance on the first day appeared, completing a set that could be called the “foundation of 2021.” “Let It Bleed,” which was only performed at the Charlotte concert this year, is delicious, but “Troubles a’ Comin” is even more noteworthy. It is a cover of THE CHI-LITES, which was included in the 40th anniversary edition of “TATTOO YOU” and whose lyric video was also a hot topic. The world premiere was a private show prior to the tour, but it appeared in the second performance of the main tour. It is a very rare song that has only been performed four times so far. Three weeks have passed since the start of the tour, and the recording situation is starting to improve. God only knows whether the best full recording will be newly unearthed from the Charlotte concert in the future, or whether it will become a hidden recording area. However, no matter what happens, it is no longer a dimension that can not be “listened to”. A full live album of exquisite quality produced by reusing the techniques of the official live album.
