Description
The masterpiece from the Trial era, “ST. PAUL 2005,” which recorded the 2005 St. Paul performance, has been newly remastered and finally resurrected. The early days of the “A Bigger Bang” tour were a rush of releases, as the Stones had just started in 2005. However, the sound sources capturing that early tour were all of poor sound quality. However, from the beginning of the release, it was well received, with people saying, “This sound quality is exceptional even for the 2005 tour,” and there were also voices asking, “Why not release it?” After all, the 2005 tour had many recordings with distant sounds, and the superb recordings captured with a sound image that was so on that it could be said to be the only one, and even now, the sound quality is still excellent, even when listening to it like this, with the bass resonating heavily. So, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stones’ debut and their restart from last year, the release of this sound source has finally been realized. Moreover, this day was the sixth performance since the start of the tour, so the highlight is the wonderful performance that has been taken a step beyond the poor performance immediately after the start of the tour. Among them, “Rocks Off” was a wonderful performance that was reminiscent of the 70’s. Moreover, the sound quality is also excellent, so it is an excellent recording that allows you to feel the power of this performance and the stage of this day in a realistic way. On the other hand, this was a time when Mick’s singing became unstable on stage, and there were frequent problems that seemed to be caused by a malfunction of the ear monitor, and as expected, a problem occurred on this day in the first half of “Sympathy For The Devil”. Mick was singing a different melody than usual, and it was clear that he was holding on just before he would miss it if he made a mistake. It is still fresh in my memory that a similar problem occurred on the first day of Newark on last year’s 50th anniversary tour, and even with the same song, but how good is the in-ear monitor that can be plagued by such problems even after seven years? The troubles that make you want to insert one of the comments are also unique to the Stones, and the performance that is free from the tension at the beginning of the tour and such happenings, both of which can be enjoyed in real life, are finally released!
