From the 1997 “Bridges To Babylon” US tour, the performance at Giants Stadium in New Jersey on October 16th was recorded on a video tape taken by a roadie at the time, and the footage was directly released on DVD. It includes footage of the band members entering the venue, backstage footage, the state of the venue, and of course the concert scenes, as well as the band members leaving the venue. First, the collector’s footage, which was also distributed on VHS video at the time, was digitized directly from the master this time, and is a full recording of 3 hours and 42 minutes in total. Discs 1 & 2 contain 117 minutes of the roadie tape. It starts with the members entering the venue in a limousine, then the fans, the backstage just before the show starts, and the expressions of the members before they appear on stage. At the intro to “Satisfaction”, Mick Jagger runs up to the stage, and together they climb onto the stage and film the main part of the live performance from the back. After that, the camera moves to various places, from the audience seats to behind the stage, left and right, to capture the whole picture of the day. Although all the songs are digests, the shot of “Band Introduction” starts with a scene shot from directly behind Charlie, capturing the conversations of each member and the staff, and then moves further from the transition scene to “B-Stage”, and there are plenty of precious images from the roadie’s point of view. In addition, disc 3 contains a different version of the day’s performance, filmed by another person involved, for 1 hour and 45 minutes. This was also filmed in almost the same way, and includes a series of scenes from positions that general fans cannot see, including super close-up footage of the backstage and onstage. This is a limited collector’s edition that contains valuable leaked footage that can be enjoyed from a different perspective than a regular live performance, with a documentary touch. Disc 1 : 1.
