Description

The LP “MUNDIALITO ’82” has been loved by enthusiasts as a masterpiece that captured the Rolling Stones’ engine at full throttle at the end of their 1982 European tour. In terms of sound quality and binding, it seems that “ONE MORE TIME” or “NEVER STOP!” from Gothenburg in June were more popular, but in terms of performance content, “MUNDIALITO ’82” from July was much more substantial. That’s why there was a desire for a CD version to be released, but the first VGP version, although it used the tape that was the basis for the LP, was regrettable that it was in a state of quite low generation. After that, from the perspective that LP might be better for the “MUNDIALITO ’82” sound source, a limited press version was released by a non-label about 10 years ago. This certainly had better sound quality than the VGP version, but a few years later, the DAC version appeared. Here, the original tape’s low generation version was finally made into a CD. After more than 30 years since the release of the LP, it finally seemed like a satisfactory CD version had appeared. And all of these items have been released under the name of “MUNDIALITO ’82” artwork and design. However, recently, the cassette master of the Turin performance on July 11, which was the basis for them, has finally appeared on the Internet. As expected, the upper feeling unique to the master state, not to mention the low generation, is magnificent, and the difference is clear when comparing the DAC version, which was the best version released, with this version. The veil that was there has been removed, and the natural feeling has been greatly improved. After all, since the original is the master, no tricks have been added to suppress hiss noise. Therefore, the natural and warm texture that surpasses the DAC version is overwhelming. It can be clearly felt from the rich and natural spread of the clapping that arises when the opening “Under My Thumb” begins. I think that the power of the master is truly realized. On the other hand, the pitch of this sound source was high from the time the LP was released, and it became clear that it was high even from the time of the master that appeared this time. Therefore, when it was made into a CD, it was adjusted properly. Of course, this time too, there is a noise like the taper accidentally hitting the microphone in “Time Is On My Side”, but the sound quality is so amazing that it doesn’t even bother you. Thus, when you listen to the Turin performance, also known as “MUNDIALITO ’82”, which was finally recorded from the master, you will be overwhelmed by the wonderfulness of the performance. More than a week has passed since the famous album “FRANKFURT 1982”, and the band’s performance boasts perfect speed and perfection. Among them, Mick was blowing up from the very beginning, and he immediately pulled the band hard in “Shattered” and “Neighbours”. On the other hand, since the tour had already passed July, the Big Bopper cover “Chantilly Lace,” which was originally a symbol of the ’82 tour, had long since disappeared, and even “Let It Bleed” had been dropped from the set list. However, on this day only, Keith’s “Little T & A” was also omitted, which was an unprecedented situation. Thanks to this, the rare electric version of “Angie,” introduced in Madrid on the 7th, was played after the usual member introduction, which made the development even more interesting. On the contrary, there was no sign of the Stones cutting corners (at all!), and rather, the hyper performances after “She’s So Cold,” which Mick started to incite, were so wonderful that they could be called the essence of the ’82 European tour. Yes, this fulfillment was the secret behind their love since the LP era. Since the long-awaited release of the best version from the master of the “Mundialito ’82” Turin performance has been realized, this time we decided not to use the LP title or artwork, but to use the mix from the day and to stoically title it “TORINO 1982 DAY 1”. The unique rich realism is also reproduced without leaving anything out from the master, and above all, please enjoy the best performance of the 1982 European tour to your heart’s content in the best version! (Remaster Memo)) The pitch has been corrected to be 35 to 50% lower than a semitone. The left and right balance changes frequently, so we adjusted it roughly. The sound quality is clearly higher than the already released “Mundialito ’82” (LP-raised), and the impression is better with this version than the already released tape source. In addition, the end of Disc 1 is about 2 seconds longer. The pause at 6:53 of Jumping Jack Flash has been connected by cross-fading in the already released version, but the recording time is about 10 seconds shorter than this version. The end of this version is about 3 seconds longer. Live at Stadio Comunale, Torino, Italy 11th July 1982 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) Disc 1 (60:09) 1. Take The A Train 2. Under My Thumb 3.
