Description

The 60th anniversary tour “Sixty” is finally in a countdown state until its completion. A masterpiece live album that reports on the final stage has been decided to be released. This work is recorded in “Lyon performance on July 19, 2022”. It is an excellent audience recording recorded on the night of the incident where “Gimme Shelter” was not played. While “Sixty” has a large number of multi-camera edited video works, there are few live albums. Of course, there are a fair number of audience recordings, but there are many substandard quality such as smartphone recordings and the layer is thin. It is difficult to introduce a live album with only sound. However, masterpiece-level recordings have appeared in some shows. It is a good opportunity, so let’s organize the collection limited to “live albums” here. *June 1st “MADRID 2022 (with video)” *June 5th “MUNICH 2022 (2CD)” ・June 9th: Liverpool performance “Mick’s COVID-19 infection” ・June 21st “LIVE IN MILAN 2022” ・June 25th-July 7th (3 performances) *July 11th “BRUSSELS AFFAIR 2022 (2CD)” *July 15th “LIVE IN VIENNA 2022 (with video)” ・July 19th: Lyon performance ←★This work★ ・July 23rd: Paris performance >>Now here<< ・July 27th-August 3rd (3 performances) *Note: Only representative works for each day. The “*” marks the title of the regular release. This is the current state of “Sixty” and the live album collection. At this point, the 10th performance in Paris has been completed, and there are only three more performances left on the 60th anniversary tour. The Lyon performance in this work was the 9th concert, the one before that. This work, which vacuum-packed such a show, is a beautiful recording with a clean and clear sound. The kick of the heavy bass is not so good, but the mid-high range is perfect. The mid-range is full of response, and the high notes are also well extended and comfortable. And the sound emitted from such a core is also fine and neat. It is thick, but even refreshing and does not hide the details. Mick’s vocals are particularly wonderful. It stretches out from the performance coated with the dynamism of the sound, and you can clearly taste not only every word of the lyrics, but even the nuances contained therein. Such beautiful sound depicts a literal passionate performance that unfolded in a record heat wave. Speaking of July in Lyon, the average maximum temperature in the usual year is 27 degrees. While it is said that it is unlikely to exceed 34 degrees, the maximum temperature on this day was recorded at 35.5 degrees. This year’s European heatwave has been making the news all over the world, but this was the hottest night of all. Mick had a hard time singing while inhaling the high temperature. As mentioned at the beginning, “Gimme Shelter” was omitted, making the concert 18 songs, one less than usual. Finally, let’s summarize the contents. Fixed songs (10 songs) Tumbling Dice / You Can’t Always Get What You Want / Honky Tonk Women / Miss You / Midnight Rambler / Paint It Black / Start Me Up / Sympathy For The Devil / Jumping Jack Flash / (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction Daily songs (8 songs) Semi-fixed: Street Fighting Man / Out Of Time / Living In A Ghost Town Others: Let’s Spend the Night Together / Dead Flowers / Angie / You Got the Silver (★) / Happy (★) *Note: The above is data up to the Paris performance (7/23). “★” marks Keith Corner. A truly scorching night. This latest live album lets you fully experience the scene with exquisite, neat sound. It is not yet known whether this work will be the best masterpiece of the day, but there is no doubt that it is one of the best masterpieces of the entire tour. The fun of audience recording is to run alongside the ongoing tour. This work is the “cutting edge of Sixty” that gives you a full taste of its appeal. It is the perfect one to savor the “now” when the end is in sight. A masterpiece live album that conveys the second half of the 60th anniversary tour has been released. With a detailed and neat audience recording, you can experience the full show that unfolded in the record heat wave. It is a truly scorching live album.
