Description
JEMS has stated before that they will release the mirrored recordings of the Rolling Stones at the LA Forum in 1975. Until now, there was a rule that performances that had been officially released in any form (the point is that it is a performance, not a sound source) could not be uploaded on the platform, so JEMS has now moved to that and continued to excavate mirrored masters. Thanks to such rules, the mirrored recording masters of the Stones’ 1975 LA Forum were only released on the third day, on the masterpiece “L.A. FORUM 1975 3RD NIGHT”. However, this time, thanks to the change in platform, JEMS has unearthed a master recording that captured the first day, July 9th. On this day, the encore “Sympathy For The Devil” was adopted for the official live album “LOVE YOU LIVE”, so it was a sound source that could not be released on the conventional platform, and this is a long-awaited work for enthusiasts all over the world. The series of Stones LA Forum performances that were left behind have been passed down as his masterpieces alongside ZEP and Floyd in 1975, the first peak of Millard’s recording career. Millard had already achieved remarkable results at ZEP’s LA Forum and Floyd’s LA Sports Arena at this point, so he left a great recording from the first day of the Stones. His recording of the Stones at the LA Forum in 1975 was the second best audience after the last day, and it has been familiar as one of the standard audiences of the Stones in 1975. Therefore, many items have been released on CD, but the DAC version “LOVE YOU LOVE IN LOS ANGELES” released in 2006 has continued to reign as the definitive version. However, nearly 20 years have passed since the release of the DAC (hereinafter referred to as “already released version”). The Mirrored Master proves that the work, which was called the definitive version at the time, was now quite flashy in sound production. In fact, the sound quality is so different that it is almost an illusion that it is actually a different recording. This time, the naturalness and fullness unique to the master stand out. When the previous version was released in 2006, the master was not available, and the copy, which had been more or less prone to gene drop, was processed to produce the previous version. In contrast, this time, the master that JEMS members had secretly obtained in 2000 was dropped onto DAT, which resulted in an exceptional naturalness. However, like a rough American (bitter smile), when recording from the master to DAT, the opening “Fanfare For The Common Man” was recorded shorter than the previous version, but since this is a part unrelated to the Stones’ performance and the difference in sound quality would be noticeable, no compensation was made to use the previous version. Rather, the problem with this release was that digital noise had been mixed into “All Down The Line” due to the aging of the DAT, but this was resolved by patching another part for this release. At first glance, you won’t notice where it was patched. Furthermore, the interval between the finale “Jumping Jack Flash” and the encore “Sympathy For The Devil” will make you certain of the state unique to the master. This was significantly cut in the previous version, but this time you can hear Mick’s “Good Night” greeting after the former, and the sound of the firecrackers bursting, which was heard only once in the previous version, is recorded five times this time (laughs). However, this firecracker rings out at a considerable volume, so be careful when listening with headphones. Also, the cut in “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, which was a chronic condition of this recording, was the same as the previous items, and it was proven again that it was due to a tape change. However, the sound quality is good on this day. Thanks to this, the Stones’ performance and the performance unique to 1975 are captured vividly. In particular, Mick ran through the tour with a unique singing style, and “If You Can’t Rock Me / Get Off Of My Cloud” and “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” were high-tension performances that could be called “the 1975 Stones”. As expected, it was only the day that “Sympathy For The Devil” was officially adopted, but the performances at the 75LA Forum were really wonderful every day, and the performances that were over the top on each day stood out. Although it was a similarly high-tension performance, it was also different from the officially released live video or the 12th day of the multi-track masterpiece “L.A. FORUM 1975 4TH NIGHT”, and it was too 1975-like. The master of the mirrored recording on the first day of the legendary 1975 LA Forum has finally been unearthed by enthusiasts all over the world. Please check for yourself the natural feeling that is on a different level from the many past items that have been released so far. Here’s the Mirrored Master from July 9th!
