Description
Not only in New Jersey, but also in LA at the end of the tour, the gap between the distribution of the first and second days of the sound source was huge, and until last week, it was only the first day. The latest tour documentary “LOS ANGELES 2024 1ST NIGHT: IN EAR MONITOR RECORDING”, which can be heard with surprising in-ear monitor recording, and “LOS ANGELES 2024 1ST NIGHT”, which is literally the best audience recorded from the audience side, were released, and it was a blessed situation that could be enjoyed from both the stage side and the audience. In that respect, there was no distribution of the sound source itself for the second day in LA, and it was only a situation where it could be glimpsed from a video that appeared on YouTube. Because of that, even the CD itself was delayed, and finally the best audience appeared. In addition, the sound quality is so excellent that it is comparable to the audience version of “LOS ANGELES 2024 1ST NIGHT” on the first day of LA, which was even called “a great recording that perfectly complements the balance of the IME sound source from the previous day”. It is obvious when you listen to the intro played by Keith in the opening “Start Me Up”, and the sound image is so close that it is overwhelming. The recording state is so beautiful that it seems inevitable that it will be released just by listening to this. Furthermore, the graininess of Daryl Jones’ bass line is also outstanding. Nevertheless, for this release, the sound has been made clearer and the influence of the wind on the low tones has been reduced, making it even easier to hear. When “Jumping Jack Flash” started, I picked up the appearance of a fan who was upset near the taper, but fortunately it was settled soon. Also, the set list in the first half of the live performance, which makes you want to call it a “70’s Stones Festival”, is extremely attractive. First of all, “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” is not only a well-refined performance because it was the third performance of this tour, but it is a performance that reminds us of the heyday of the 70s. In such a seventies atmosphere, the super rare performance of “Fool To Cry”, which was the highlight of the day and the only performance of the tour, was performed. Although it was the first performance of this tour, the fact that it was performed at a time when the tour was already approaching the end was a success, and it was a performance that was hard to believe that it was the first performance of the tour. The performance in Berlin in 2022 was also wonderful, but this time it was not inferior at all. The speedy performance of “Whole Wide World” from “HACKNEY DIAMONDS” performed after these rare repertoires of the 70s was like a completely different song compared to the performance at the beginning of the tour. I am happy that they have evolved to the point where they can perform it on stage with an atmosphere that makes the most of the characteristics of the new songs. Even so, Keith stopped the new song “Tell Me Straight” and revived “You Got The Silver” from this day, which will be played until the end of the tour. On the other hand, “Miss You”, which was finally dropped from the regular position on this tour, will be the last day of the tour, and the Stones’ flexible staging, which has become a phantasmagoric set list, will be shown off. It’s fine to play old songs like the one mentioned above, but this is a superb audience album that will remind you of the Stones’ excellent performance on this tour, where they played new songs with vigor. Above all, the fact that a wonderful audience recording from the second day of LA was finally unearthed following the first day should be a big topic for enthusiasts. Please enjoy the wonderful stage, which is different from the first day, with the best sound quality! SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA, USA 13th July 2024 TRULY PERFECT/ULTIMATE SOUND Disc:1 (62:03) 1.
