Description

Speaking of the Rolling Stones’ July 1975 LA Forum performance, which was held five times, the official video on the 11th and the multi-track recording on the 13th have now been released, but before that, the 13th, which was recorded by Mike Millard, was overwhelmingly popular among enthusiasts. However, even Millard could not record it on the 10th. This day was released as a trilogy of “1975 TOUR OF THE AMERICAS” by the female-led label Idle Mind Productions in the analog era, and “CHARLIE WATTS AND HIS FABULOUS ROLLING STONES”, which included “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)”, which was a legendary performance with an ad-lib intro only available on this day, was highly praised as a masterpiece with its charming title and jacket, typical of a female label. Not only that, the trilogy conveyed the awesomeness of the Stones’ 1975 tour performance almost in real time, and the fact that the sound quality was very good for that time was also a point that was highly evaluated. This is “recorder 1” of the LA Forum on July 10th. What is regrettable is that while it was a wonderful audience recording that was comparable to the Millard recording, the main part of the “1975 TOUR OF THE AMERICAS” trilogy was the recording on the 13th, and the precious take on the 10th was limited to only six songs as a “filler”. The greatness of the performance was fully felt from those six songs, but it was too short. After that, Millard’s recordings on the 13th and 9th became popular among enthusiasts, and the 10th was a day that felt like it was wrapped in a veil even among the 1975 LA Forum, but in the 21st century, the finally excavated “recorder 2” was released by the VGP label as “1975 NERVOUS BREAKDOWN”. This finally reveals the full picture of the show on the 10th. Although it was a recording of an audience with a rather distant sound image, there was a woman screaming from beginning to end in the right channel, and the sizzling texture that reflected the era in which it was released was regrettable, but it was a release that was very welcomed by enthusiasts. However, suddenly, on July 10th, a third sound source appeared on the Internet this month. The two types of sound sources that appeared in the past were both stereo recordings, but this time it is mono. Therefore, when playing it, it will be overwhelmingly more enjoyable to play it from speakers than headphones. In terms of sound image, it is in between the two past ones, and although it is not as close as “recorder 1”, it is overwhelmingly closer than “recorder 2” and the direct feeling of the performance is also wonderful. And above all, the balance that does not pick up the voices of the surrounding audience nearby promoted even easier listening. The only regrettable thing about this sound source is that the end of the masterpiece “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” was not recorded. Therefore, for this release, “recorder 1” has been supplemented to make it possible to listen to the end. Of course, there is a difference between mono and stereo, but the sound image of this sound source is close, so you can listen to it without feeling any discomfort. Furthermore, for the end of the finale “Sympathy For The Devil”, which is another cut, “recorder 2” was patched. And “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo”, the best performance of the day, is overwhelmed by its coolness even when listening to this sound source. There was a short gap before the start of the song (there is a strong theory that Keith changed his guitar), so the audience started clapping to urge them to start playing. Then, Mick, who was quick-witted, started scatting the same passage, and the band started to match it, and it became a little funky jam. As it started to get exciting, Mick’s strange voice and Keith’s intro started to play at the perfect timing, making it an extremely thrilling opening, which is why it is a great performance, and it was a special pattern that could not be seen on other days. However, when listening to the newly excavated sound source, the Stones’ performance is explosive even in other songs. Mick is flying from the opening, and the MC after “Star Star” is sharp, just like in 1975, and Ronnie’s play in “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, where he played a guitar solo with enthusiasm every time, is a wonderful phrase that seems to be the best in the 1975 LA Forum. Above all, the expression “Midnight Rambler” on this day is perfect for the expression “explosion”, and the tension and wildness of the live take in 1975, where high-tension performances were shown every time, is outstanding. And from the second half of the live to the finale, it is like a runaway locomotive. It is too wild and too intense. Since the past two sound sources did not capture the awesomeness of such performances, the newly excavated sound source this time will remind you that the whole live was outstanding, not at all inferior to the video of the day after the LA Forum or the 13th. Please enjoy it by playing it loud from your speakers! Following Baton Rouge 75, this is also a surprising 150-minute first appearance of a high-quality new source (the third source of the day).
