This is the second show recording from the November 9, 1969 Oakland concert, which was recorded on the famous “Live’r Than You’ll Ever Be” as the first bootleg of the Stones. There are three sources of this performance: the high-quality record mentioned above, a 73-minute diff source, and a soundboard recorded by Bill Graham and later broadcast on radio. This board contains a second source of about 73 minutes that has appeared on the Internet in recent years. According to the Internet commentary, it was recorded from a master reel obtained in the past few years and is not a copy that has already been released. It is recorded with a clear, mild, easy-to-listen-to sound quality without a sense of equalization. The pitch is also accurate to begin with. The sound quality is comparable to the famous sound source “Live’r Than You’ll Ever Be”, and this sound quality is amazing for an audience recording of this era. What’s nice is that it is recorded from the venue announcement “Rolling Stones!”, which was not included in “Live’r Than You’ll Ever Be”. Furthermore, “Live’r Than You’ll Ever Be” has the advantage that the familiar Jumping Jack Flash, which is recorded with a large volume fluctuation due to the REC level operation, can be heard at almost the same constant volume. (There is some adjustment, but not as much as in “Live’r”) This is the only sound source where you can hear Under My Thumb, the first half of which was missing. Conversely, the first half of Live with Me is not recorded due to a tape change. In any case, the 1969 Oakland 2nd Show, which can be heard with an extremely fresh sound, is truly the best.
