Description
The Rolling Stones’ January 1973 Nicaragua relief concert, where no sound sources other than TMOQ’s vintage analog “ALL-MEAT MUSIC” or “WINTER TOUR 1973” have yet appeared, and even the master on which the LP was based has not been unearthed. Due to this situation, LP-based CDs have been released many times, but this summer, files dropped from this LP on the Internet caused a stir among enthusiasts around the world. Let’s take a look back at how it all turned out. July 20th: A version called “Soundboard Remaster” was released. No matter how you listen to it, the sound source that sounds like an audience recording is a soundboard? Enthusiasts around the world were left scratching their heads, but in fact the enthusiast who uploaded this version was a person who called himself “soundboard”, and in short, it was meant to be “remastered by an enthusiast named soundboard”, but no matter what, it was misunderstood as “remastering the soundboard?” … How confusing. The remaster by that soundboard (lol) was a big problem. The AI-based remastering is common these days, and the equalization is so radical and unrecognizable that Soundboard was confident in the result. Well, it is certainly a sound that is far removed from the original source. While it is an AI-like finish, it is not a change that improves the balance of Taylor and Keith’s guitars, which is clear when listening to “Bitch” and “Stray Cat Blues”. Rather, it was just a flashy sound quality that would make a normal person feel “uncomfortable” or “unpleasant”. In addition, the high pitch was ignored. August 26: A maniac named “goody”, who is familiar in the online sound source world and specializes in pitch correction, released two types of LP sound source files. One was a remaster of Soundboard’s remaster with the pitch corrected. Of course, it is easy to imagine that goody felt uncomfortable with the finish, which is why he also released a pitch-corrected version of the LP sound that was simply filed. Thus, several versions of the “ALL MEAT MUSIC” LP were released during the summer, but I still miss the version that was trimmed down and put on one CD a few years ago, which sold out quickly. However, if you try to put all of the original sound source on a CD and correct the pitch, it will not fit on one disc. So this time, we will release it on CD in a two-disc format, but the original is of course the pitch-corrected version without equalization. This one has a little scratch noise at the beginning, but it is very cleanly traced throughout and very easy to listen to. The 1CD version already released was quite well-made, but this one is even more stable and has no faint distortion, and it gives the impression of allowing you to experience the honest and natural sound quality of the LP. Above all, the LP is recorded uncut, so it starts properly with the taper’s murmur of the recording date at the beginning. It is highly likely that the voice is not TMOQ’s Dub Taylor, but someone else. This is because in the book “A PIG’S TALE” published last year, it is written that Dub went to the LA Forum with a friend for this recording, and Dub’s friend appears under the pseudonym “Hans”. Therefore, the owner of this voice is probably “Hans”. In the first place, Dub has never tried to leave his own voice in any of the TMOQ items he has released up to that point. Recently, soundboards left behind from Australia, where the Stones went after this concert, have been released one after another, but compared to those, the performance and set list are really interesting, with a completely different atmosphere. In fact, no real-time Australian sound sources have been released, and the only other performance that exists is Hawaii, so the greatness of the TMOQ record, which quickly conveyed the state of the 73 Winter Tour with that unique stout jacket, has not changed. And since the master tapes of masterpieces such as “LIVE’R THAN YOU’LL EVER BE” and “LIVE ON BLUEBERRY HILL” are not even listed in the “A PIG’S TALE” book, which lists them, “ALL MEAT MUSIC” has no hope of having a master. In that case, it depends on how carefully the LP is traced. On top of that, goody has adjusted the pitch well in this version, but for this limited press CD release, the scratch noise has been pinpointed and removed. Not only TMOQ, but LPs from the early 1970s have a lot of variation in the quality of the records, so it would be strange not to be plagued by scratch noise. A famous sound source that can only be heard on such vintage LPs. Following the popular “WELCOME TO NEW YORK”, the TMOQ masterpiece reprint series is a new best version of the masterpiece from the 1973 winter tour with accurate pitch and complete recording! Scratch noise has been pinpointed and removed in places. High frequencies have been adjusted slightly (with the original sound respected, and only slight processing done to a degree that does not sound unnatural).
