Description

The previously well-received “Black and Blue UK LP Yellow Label” has been newly torresed and the only single from this album (RS 19121), “Fool To Cry/Crazy Mama”, has been added and is now back on the market. “Fool To Cry/Crazy Mama”, released on April 20th, almost at the same time as the album, reached number 4 in the UK charts (in the US, the B-side was Hot Stuff and reached number 10 in the top ten). The album reached number 2 in the UK and number 1 in the US. The disc used this time is the original version with an A1/B2 matrix. Like the album, the matrix is stamped with STERLING. The tracks on this album are credited to “Richard/Jagger”. The last track is a single, so you can enjoy the difference in sound between the album and the single, even though the songs are the same. From here, I will explain the album part. I’m sure you all know that this work was produced with many session members after Mick Taylor left the band and was released in 1976. Perhaps it was a last-ditch effort, but this album, which includes a variety of songs, was a great success for Stones fans. Now, this album can be listened to on SACD, but for analog enthusiasts, the original UK edition is the best choice for the Stones! However, it is a bit difficult to determine the original UK edition of this album. First of all, the label side. The US edition has a custom label with the photo from the inner jacket, but the UK edition has a traditional yellow label without the W mark. Since it is a 1976 work, the W mark should be printed on it. There are also discs with the W mark on the custom label, just like the US edition. And as for the stamper, as written on the obi of the Japanese edition, it is supposed to be “universal…”, but the UK edition has the stamp “STERLING LH” on it, but there are handwritten and stamped discs with the matrix number (which is essential in a sense) that represents the generation of the master. To make things even more confusing, it seems that there are also discs with handwritten notes on one side and stamped notes on the other. This time, we are using the disc with no W mark on the yellow label and handwritten A1/B1, which we assume is the original first UK pressing. The condition of the disc is of course excellent, so please enjoy!
