Description
The 1976 European tour saw the black-tasting sound from 1975 escalate. Instead of the wild momentum centered on Mick in the United States the previous year, the more sticky funky groove was overwhelming. As you can see from the fact that our shop has released sound sources such as Frankfurt and the second day of Paris from this tour, it seems that we were blessed with some sound boards. Great sound boards have been released for Earls Court and Lyon for some time. However, one of the characteristics of this tour is that the sound sources are no longer available at once at the end of the tour after Paris and Lyon. The 4CD set “GET OFF OF MY STONE” released by our shop was a turning point in this situation. This title still reigns as the sound source with the best sound quality at the end of the tour. A week later, the tour will be held in Vienna, but even though the sound source exists and items have been released on this day, it is undeniable that it is a day with a weak impression. First, the title “TOUR OF EUROPE ’76” was released, and the nostalgic EXILE released this sound source twice. Despite this, the impression is weak, perhaps because the sound source, which is “not bad but has a distant sound image,” continued to be made into a CD in a fallen generation state. Another factor seems to be that most of the items were equalized as if to conceal such a state. It is safe to say that this sound source has been treated poorly, just like the second day of the Cow Palace. However, krw_co uploaded a great version of this Vienna. He owned the first generation master. As mentioned earlier, this day was a day when fallen generation copies were rampant, but the upper feeling of the krw_co version is at a level expected. Not only does it have a warm taste, but it is also very bright and stands out. Of course, the quality is not as good as the Cow Palace, which will be released at the same time, but if you are a fanatic who thought that the past items were “picture-perfect B-class sound sources,” I promise that you will enjoy this one as a “totally cool sound source.” The very natural upper feeling is attractive, so of course no unnecessary equalization has been applied. It would be rude to do such a thing. On the other hand, this time we have precisely adjusted the slight problems that seem to have occurred when creating the first generation copy from the master. While the original was recorded in mono, the phase fluctuations caused by dubbing have been adjusted. This problem can be solved by using software to make a uniform mono sound that makes use of only one channel, but there is a risk that this will narrow the freshness and range too much, so we deliberately made thorough fine adjustments. In other words, it is an adjustment that makes use of the stable parts of each channel. Furthermore, although it is a minor problem, the duplication of sound that seems to have occurred when creating the first generation (for example, around 28:30) has also been corrected to a normal state. This sound source boasts a recording state without any cuts, which is unusual for an audience recording from 1976, so it is the result of putting all the effort into correcting the disorder of the tape. If such careful adjustments were to be released with a pedigree of the first generation, the final day of the tour, which had been overlooked, would have been reborn as an upper version full of good things, but this time it is not limited to that. In addition to the sound source uploaded by krw_co, a stereo audience recording of the same day, which was almost unknown until now, will also be recorded at the same time. This is a sound source that has been quietly circulating on the Internet until now, and it is likely that most enthusiasts did not know of its existence. Rather, it will be made clear by this release. However, the recording state is incomplete, missing the first half of the show, and there are frequent cuts both during and between songs. It is speculated that because of this, it was treated as a neglected play by enthusiasts. However, it was recorded in stereo, and in addition, it has the great advantage of a sound image that is on more than a mono source. So the third disc contains a rare stereo source. In doing so, the “holes” that were cut so frequently like a beehive were thoroughly filled in with a mono source. The stress of the precious stereo recording was kept to a minimum, and it was restored to a state where it could be heard all the way through to the end. The details are listed in a separate section, so please check them out. Of course, the freshness of the sound quality itself is superior to the conventional mono source, and the recording quality here is so rough that it even feels rough, but it is still attractive that the details of the performance that could not be conveyed in mono are transmitted realistically. Mick’s tension is very high, as it is the final day of the tour. It is so intense that it reminds us of the wildness of the previous year. Furthermore, as the live reaches the second half, the entire band explodes with “Midnight Rambler”. The complete burning that is unique to the final day of the tour is conveyed everywhere. Not only will the previously known mono source be recorded as the highest upper feeling ever, but even unknown stereo sources will be recorded, making this an upgraded release that will be a perfect culmination of the final day of the 1976 tour for enthusiasts!
