Description

The final performance of the Australian tour, held on November 22, 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand, was recorded with high-quality audience footage. The amazing footage was shot from quite far forward (slightly to the left) in the arena, with a very realistic angle that makes it seem as if you are watching the Stones’ live performance from the front row. Watching a live performance from the front row of the arena, which only a limited number of people can see at the actual live performance. This is an excellent audience-shot video that lets you experience it virtually. At this time, the 2014 Australian tour had trouble with Mick’s poor health, but this day was the last day of the tour. Mick has fully recovered, and the whole group below him gives a heart-warming performance that you cannot miss. In fact, Mick’s poor health was captured so much that it was nerve-wracking to listen to him in Melbourne and Sydney at this time, but Mick here is like a completely different person. He has made a complete recovery from those days of illness, and not only is he walking around the stage with his engine at full throttle, but he is also captured shouting with great energy everywhere. But that’s not all, it was the last day of the Stones’ live activities in 2014, so Keith looked really happy from the opening, and the band was also playing with great energy. In “Start Me Up,” Darryl Jones was playing the bass while making silly gestures to the rhythm, which was a nice touch, and here Keith was interacting with Darryl with a very happy expression on his face. “Tumbling Dice,” a regular repertoire played every day, was surprisingly messy on the Australian tour, but it was perfect on this day, and Mick and Keith were talking while the lights were out, which was probably proof that they were satisfied with the performance. In addition, “Doom And Gloom,” which was temporarily dropped from the set list in Hunter Valley, was also revived. Moreover, the completely safe and wonderful performance here was appropriate for the final day of the tour. What’s interesting is that the photographer was disappointed (probably) when he found out that the performance for this day, decided by Fan Vote, was “Like A Rolling Stone.” The impact of the repertoire of songs played at Fan Vote has been weakening since the latter half of the summer in Europe, but I can sympathize with the fact that this song was chosen, which must have been disappointing. Perhaps that’s why the cameraman didn’t close up the members on stage during this song, but rather started shooting the audience, which showed his disappointment. “Midnight Rambler”, where Mick Taylor’s intense guitar playing shone since entering Australia… This day was also a tremendous development. From the intro, Taylor’s aggressive playing as if he was getting close to Mick makes you want to lean forward. In the middle of the song, Taylor, who is playing like that, gives the solo to Keith, while he starts dancing (lol), which is a fun scene with plenty of room. On the other hand, at the ending, Ronnie’s playing, who takes a solo that is not to be outdone by Taylor, is also impressive. Since it is a performance featuring Taylor, it is a short time, but you can’t miss Ronnie’s playing. And at the end of the live performance, the close-ups like professional shots capture the happy expressions of each member. Not only that, but the composition of Matt Clifford coming out to the front of the stage to play the horn in the intro of the first encore “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, Ronnie playfully praises him, and Clifford responds to his gesture with a smile, which was a peaceful and wonderful scene. In addition, the figure of Carl Denson, a black saxophone player who replaced Bobby Keys (who died about two weeks after this performance), is also captured. Such a highlight-packed live video with the best image quality! Not only has the audio been upgraded, but the shooting of “Honky Tonk Women” and “Happy” stopped halfway through, so you can watch them in full by connecting separate footage from the same day. Please enjoy the best master footage of the Auckland performance on the final day of the 2014 Australian tour, which took place exactly 10 years ago!
