Description
Roger Waters’ 2002 Japan tour, which greatly impressed Japanese fans with his attractive set filled with Floyd classics and advanced performances, was held in Osaka on the 2nd and Tokyo on the 3rd. This set includes all three Tokyo International Forum performances on March 28th, 30th, and 31st, all recorded with the highest level of ultra-high quality audience recording. All three performances are the best sound quality takes recorded from the master DAT, and are all high-grade sound source collections that are rated as “5.5”, the highest grade for audience seating recordings, on overseas Floyd sound source specialty sites. The sound quality of the 28th and 31st is similar, with an ultra-clear sound with the best balance and treble. On the other hand, the 30th take has a slightly larger base and a slightly milder sound image compared to the other 2 days, but this can be said to be sufficient ultra-high sound quality. It’s the last day where you can listen to an exquisite performance, but unfortunately there are some parts where the microphone can’t withstand the sound pressure at the peak of the sound and modulates into a noisy sound. This is their Japan tour after performing 10 performances in South America, and the overall impression is that the performances are solid and stoic, but the high-quality performance that is well-controlled down to the smallest detail is worth listening to. The surprisingly handmade sound that was output with an excellent sense of separation was very tasteful, and I could say that I was lucky to be able to see Roger live in a hall class at a time when gigantic venues had become commonplace. yeah. The general outline of the set is the same, but the first day continues the flow of the Osaka performance, with Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun at the beginning of the second part, and the new song Flickering Flame played as an encore. From the live performance on the 30th, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun was moved after Dogs, and the second part started with Speak To Me, which changed the composition dramatically, and the encore was played on the 2001 tour. “Each Small Candle” is being played. On the 30th, you can also hear a production mistake where the SE of Time sounds near the end of Breathe even though it hasn’t finished yet. The Japan tour started in Osaka, and the backing performance got better each day, but from the first day to the third day in Tokyo, you can hear high-grade performances that confirm that. In addition to Roger’s outstanding vocal performance, the dense band ensemble created by outstanding players is exquisite, with Andy Fairweather Rowe, Snowy White, Chester Kamen, and others firmly enlivening the key points. All of the three guitarists’ plays are worth listening to. Even when I listen to it now, Money’s direct and aggressive guitar solo is surprising. The stability of the sound is second to none throughout the performance, and the excellent taper makes this a huge collection of ultra-high quality sound sources. Roger’s solo performance in Japan, which will probably never happen again. We Japanese fans were really lucky to be able to see Roger’s show at a venue of this size… Live At International Forum, Tokyo, Japan 28th, 30th & 31st March 2002 [Live At International Forum, Tokyo, Japan 28th March 2002] Disc 1 1.
