Description
“This Is Not A Drill” has become a large-scale world tour with additional dates announced one after another. The latest live albums will be released simultaneously. This is the first of two consecutive releases. It is a superb audience recording of the “September 6, 2022 Denver performance”. We have been reporting on the live album since the start of “This Is Not A Drill”, and the released “KANSAS CITY 2022” was also very well received. What position will this work be in? First, let’s organize it with the latest information on the tour. 2022 June 21st: Appearance on Late Show With Stephen ColbertJuly 2nd: Dress rehearsalJuly 6th “PITTSBURGH 2022″July 8th – August 31st: North America (23 performances)September 3rd “KANSAS CITY 2022″September 6th: Denver performance ←★This work★September 8th – 13th: North America (3 performances)September 15th “VANCOUVER 2022″September 17th – 24th: North America (4 performances) >>Now<<September 27th – October 15th: North America (9 performances)2023 March 17th – May 28th: Europe (27 performances)May 31st – June 6th: UK (3 performances)This is the overall picture of “This Is Not A Drill” that has been released so far. When “KANSAS CITY 2022” was released last time, there were about 12 performances scheduled for next year, but more were added after that. Currently, the number has reached 30 performances, and it is clear that it will be a large-scale tour approaching the North American leg. In the midst of all this, the Denver performance of this work is the 26th performance of the North American leg. It was the “next” concert of “KANSAS CITY 2022”. It may be better to wait a little while, but this work is a noteworthy work that cannot be said that. First of all, the date is special. This show took place on the day of Roger’s 79th birthday. And the sound that conveys the birthday show is also wonderful. The previous work “KANSAS CITY 2022” was a famous recording that boasted unusual clarity, but this work has a slightly different personality, and the thick sound creates a rich sound that creates dynamism. If you write it like this, you might imagine a bowabo sound, but that is not the case. It is true that the hall sound component is thick, but the core is even thicker than that. The core, like a rough rope, rushes through the sound. Therefore, there is no sense of sparseness or distance, and the thick sound is transformed into dynamism as it is. It is true that the transparency of the air is inferior to “KANSAS CITY 2022”, but the strength of rock and the dynamism of being in the biggest spectacle of the century are superior to this work. What’s even more amazing is that the cheers are far away. In “KANSAS CITY 2022”, the enthusiasm and chorus of the surroundings were captured as clearly as the sound of the band’s performance, but this work seems to be the type where the surroundings listen carefully. Of course, there is a big excitement between songs, and there is a big chorus for hit songs. However, since it is perceived as “the swell of the entire venue” rather than the immediate customers, you can enjoy only the spectacle without disturbing the performance. The world of “This Is Not A Drill”, which has been perfected by repeating the performance, is depicted with such dynamism and spectacular sound. The set is the same as before, but let’s summarize it just for the sake of convenience. Part 1: The Wall #1: Comfortably Numb/The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall Part 2/3: Solo: The Powers That Be/The Bravery Of Being Out Of Range/The Bar (★)/Flame/Animals: Have A Cigar/Wish You Were Here/Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts VI-VII)/Sheep Part 2: The Wall #2: In The Flesh/Run Like Hell/Is This The Life We Really Want?/Deja Vu/Is This The Life We Really Want?/Madness (B-side): Money/Us And Them/Any Colour You Like/Brain Damage/Eclipse/Other: Two Suns In The Sunset/The Bar (reprise) (★)/Outside The Wall *Note: The ★ marks new, unreleased songs. Roger Waters turned 79 on this day. There are no shows scheduled for September 6th next year (for now), and Roger himself has said that “This Is Not A Drill” may be his last tour. There will probably be no show to celebrate his 80th birthday… no, there may never be another birthday concert. This is a famous live album that will allow you to be present on such a memorable night with the best sound. This is a superb audience recording of the “September 6, 2022 Denver performance”, which is also Roger’s 79th birthday. The thick sound creates a rich sound with dynamism, and the thick core rushes through the sound, so there is no sense of distance. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to fully experience the latest “This Is Not A Drill” with the strength of rock and the dynamism of being in the biggest spectacle of the century.
