Description
The shocking super-excellent soundboard album is here. Roger Waters restarted after the “THE WALL LIVE” project in the fall of 2016. As you know, in 2017, the new album “IS THIS THE LIFE WE REALLY WANT?” and “US + THEM TOUR” are making waves in the scene. We have delivered many masterpieces and masterpieces live albums from a series of big tours, but there has never been a soundboard before. The time has come to tell the end of such misfortune. Finally, finally, a super-excellent full soundboard has been unearthed. This long-awaited work contains the “Indigo performance on October 9, 2016”. This is a leaked soundboard album from last year’s appearance at the major rock festival “DESERT TRIP 2016”, where Paul McCartney, the Stones, THE WHO, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young all gathered. That historic festival was already more than a year ago. Let’s take a look back at the outline of “DESERT TRIP 2016” to refresh our memories. October 7th + 14th (Friday): Bob Dylan/THE ROLLING STONES October 8th + 15th (Saturday): Neil Young/Paul McCartney October 9th + 16th (Sunday): THE WHO/Roger Waters Thus, the event lasted for 6 days, 3 days on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for 2 weeks. Roger was the final performer on Sunday. This brings to mind “DESERT TRIP 2016 WEEKEND 2”. “DESERT TRIP 2016” produced countless great recordings of each performer, but the second week was especially amazing. Recordists with incredible recording techniques produced a series of extraordinary quality that overturned the audience’s common sense. The best of them all was Roger’s “DESERT TRIP 2016 WEEKEND 2”, which was highly praised as “unless IEM comes out, there is nothing that can be surpassed”. In contrast, this work is the first week. This time, you can enjoy a show that is different from that super famous album with a genuine sound board. In fact, the quality of this work is too perfect, a super-excellent stereo sound board. Unlike the thin excavation line sound source that is common there, the mix is great and the sound is perfect. In terms of quality, it should be called “official class”, but if you imagine the official album sound as it is, it’s a little different. It was recorded directly from the mix desk, and the direct feeling of the super class is more than the so-called official sound. You can experience the immersive and synchronized feeling that all the performance sounds of the show are output from inside your head. Since its appearance on the Internet, this sound board has been making a fuss with enthusiasts all over the world, but our shop has asked a world authority on Floyd research, who always cooperates with us, to supervise it. Mastering was done according to the instructions. The overhanging midrange was sorted out, and the reverberation, which was somewhat muddy, was also cleared up. Of course, since it was a great discovery, I didn’t try to destroy it, and to be honest, it was nothing more than a fine adjustment. However, I finished it as the best version from the perspective of a researcher who is well acquainted with the Floyd sound. The quality depicts the supreme show. As mentioned above, 2016 was the unveiling of the restart, and although the stage direction is similar to the current “US + THEM”, the set is slightly different. There are no new songs, let alone solo songs, in “IS THIS THE LIFE WE REALLY WANT?”, and the whole album is “PINK FOLYD Greatest Hits”. Therefore, there are plenty of masterpieces that are not currently being performed. To list them all… “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun”, “Fearless”, “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”, “Have A Cigar”, “Pigs On The Wing”, “Mother”, and “Run Like Hell” are the seven songs that are performed. Of these, “Fearless” and “Have A Cigar” cannot be heard even in “IN THE FLESH ? LIVE”, and “Fearless” in particular was the first song performed on a solo stage in 2016. In addition, it is not just a best set, but the composition is also wonderful. It is roughly chronological and historical, and on Disc 1, there are a lot of “crazy” numbers scattered around while “mystery” and “meddlesome” numbers are thrown in. On Disc 2, all the songs from “Flame” except “Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI?IX)” are performed, and all the songs from “Animals” except “Sheep” and “Pigs On The Wing 2” are performed. Disc 3 is the seven songs from “Wall” plus “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse”. There is no perfect reproduction as there are gaps from each album, and the order of the songs has been changed, but the flow of “Madness” → “Fire” → “Animals” → “The Wall” is also a beautiful “FLOYD Digest”. Anyway, “FOLYD Greatest Hits” sounds on a shocking super high quality sound board. I don’t know if there will be a sound board or official release of the main “US + THEM” in the future, but even if it is realized, the brilliance of this work is unique. Just as “DESERT TRIP 2016 WEEKEND 2 (Sigma 171)” was an abnormal work that mocked the common sense of bootlegs, this work will never fade. Live at Empire Polo Club, Indio, CA.
