Description

This work contains three audience shots from the Lucca performance. Let’s take a closer look at each one. [HIGHLIGHTS] First up is a highlight video that follows the flow of the Lucca performance in a digest. Each song is short, and the show runs through for a total of about 27 minutes. It’s a distant view on the left side of the stage, but that’s why the screen is captured in full view, and you can enjoy plenty of skillful video production. Even more delicious is the European summer mood. As mentioned in the main commentary, “LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL” is an outdoor festival. It starts at dusk, and the darkness deepens with each song. Because it’s a distant view, you can see the sense of fantasy as if you were holding it in your hands, and because it’s a digest, you can feel the passage of time vividly. Even though it’s a highlight, it’s a masterpiece video that should not be underestimated. [ALMOST COMPLETE] Next comes the main long video. Although it starts from the second song “Breathe”, it is an audience shot that allows you to experience most of the show on site. It’s not just long, but a truly spectacular view. If you zoom in boldly while capturing the center of the stage from the front, Roger’s waist-up will occupy the screen, and if you pull back as much as you can, you can see the super-large horizontal screen. Of course, the image beauty of the latest digital equipment is amazing, and the sound is wonderful, although it is not as good as the CD. It is the perfect image to enjoy the mood of the venue. And what is drawn from that angle is the European version “US + THEM”, which is quite different from the American version. The point is outdoors. In the North American leg, the screen curtain divided the huge stadium space vertically and horizontally, but in Europe, there are many outdoors to tour summer festivals. There, instead of being able to do a three-dimensional production that runs across the audience seats, the screen on the stage is super huge. This makes it easier to see the audience shots. Most of the images and production are facing the stage, and Battersea Power Station also rises up behind Roger, and pigs fly above it. Therefore, instead of looking around the three-dimensional space, the camera continues to stare steadily at the stage, and there is no loss of sense of direction through the monitor. You can calmly enjoy the best video production of the time. I have dealt with many “US + THEM” videos, but this sense of calm has never been seen before. You can enjoy the true value of the best video production of the time. It is a truly wonderful video, but unfortunately there were some flaws. As mentioned above, not only was “Speak to Me” at the beginning of the show missing, but the second half of “Pigs” and the intro of “Money” and the beginning of “Comfortably Numb” were also cut. Of these, “the second half of Pigs – Money intro” was supplemented with another superb video. [BONUS TRACKS] After experiencing the show with such a spectacular view, there is another bonus. The complete version of “Comfortably Numb”, which was missing the beginning, was recorded from a different angle. It is a little further away than the main story, but that is why you can enjoy the huge spectacle of the screen. Furthermore, because it is a distant view, the design of the grand fireworks that will be launched at the grand finale can be clearly seen. Initially, this was also planned to be seamlessly connected, but the scene itself was wonderful, and the mood of the end of the festival was full. We recorded it as a bonus so that you can enjoy the whole song thoroughly. “US + THEM” is something that Japan cannot face. I think that the main way is to be surrounded by three-dimensional production like in North America, but the ease of viewing because a three-dimensional effect is impossible, and the quality that is pushed through by the quality of the image alone are also excellent.
