Description
The phantom official video recording the collaboration with Keith Richards has been reprinted in the highest quality. The phantom image was recorded on “December 23, 1974 in London.” Yes, this is the multi-camera professional shot “Last Concert” of the Kilburn performance. Since this show was broadcast on TV, it has long been known as a symbol of the late THE FACES, and it is a classic among the classics that has produced many previous episodes (contrary to the title, it is not the final performance of THE FACES). At our store, the highest-quality broadcast version of “KILBURN 1974” has become very popular. However, unlike the broadcast, this work is the official work version released in 1995. Some of you may remember the illustration jacket drawn by a Japanese artist and the bright red obi with the words “Long-awaited historical footage. This release is news!!”. This work has been precisely digitized from the Japanese version laser disc “COLY-3166”. [The laser disc version is completely different from the broadcast version] I think many people have already experienced “KILBURN 1974”, but the biggest difference is the length. “KILBURN 1974” was edited to fit five songs into a broadcast time of about 20 minutes, but this work is a full 65 minutes. Not only is “You Wear It Well”, which was only partially shown, included in its entirety, but there are also 8 more songs that were not seen in the broadcast version. There’s no comparison at all. Let’s organize the contents here. ●NEVER A DULL MOMENT (4 songs)・Co-starring Keith: I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James)/Twistin’ The Night Away (Sam Cooke)・Angel (Jimi Hendrix)/You Wear It Well ●SMILER ( 2 songs) Keith co-stars: Sweet Little Rock’n Roller (Chuck Berry) ・Bring It On Home To Me/You Send Me (Sam Cooke) ・I’VE GOT MY OWN ALBUM TO DO (2 songs) ・Take A Look At The Guy/I Can Feel The Fire ●Others (4 songs)・Maggie May “EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY”/You Can Make Me Dance, Sing Or Anything・Cover: It’s All Over Now (Bobby Womack)/ We’ll Meet Again (Vera Lynn)…and it goes like this. In “KILBURN 1974”, the collaboration with Keith, which was only “Sweet Little Rock’n Roller”, was increased by two songs, “I’d Rather Go Blind” and “Twistin’ The Night Away”. You can also enjoy valuable numbers such as “It’s All Over Now” and “You Can Make Me Dance, Sing Or Anything” that can’t be heard on the recently released late THE FACES’ symbolic soundboard “DEFINITIVE SAN BERNARDINO 1975”. Not only is the volume increased, but the screen quality is also completely different from “KILBURN 1974.” The image quality has a very vintage film feel. To be honest, there are white and black dots and noise, and the detail feels analog. It is a completely different world from the super vivid feeling of “KILBURN 1974”, which would have digitally processed the station master. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s an official work, and it was created from a Japanese laser disc in mint condition. Of course, tape twists and dubbing marks are physically impossible, and the product quality of the time has been reproduced without deterioration. The monaural audio is also original. What’s more, the filmy feel gives the band’s music an exquisite flavor, giving it a sense of quality as a recorded video. With this quality, it is impossible to hope for an official DVD or BD release, but it will tickle the psychology of the classic rock fans who are familiar with it. [Historical gorgeous co-starring realized in Guitarist Hunt] And what you can’t miss in this video is co-starring with Keith. You can see the twin guitar with Ron Wood. Moreover, the timing of this co-starring was really delicate. This day, “December 23, 1974,” is the early stage of the Stones’ production of “BLACK & BLUE.” More specifically, between the Munich session in December 1974 and the Rotterdam session in January-February 1975. In other words, it was during the “Great Guitarist Hunt” period when they were searching for Mick Taylor’s successor while recording. In order to understand the situation, let’s take a look at the time series at that time, including CDs. ●1974・February 1st-28th: Oceania/Japan/North America・July 6th + August 17th: Europe #1・September 13th-December 8th: Europe #2《December 7th- 15th “BLACK AND BLUE” Munich Session》《December 12th: Mick Taylor leaves the Stones》・December 23rd: London performance ←★This work★ ●1975《January 22nd – February 9th “BLACK AND BLUE” Rotterdam Session》 February 11th – March 13th: North America #1《March 25th – April 4th “BLACK AND BLUE” Munich Session》》《April: Ron Wood to join the Stones》・April 25th: Burnbank Performance《June 1st-August 8th: Stones Tour》・August 10th-November 1st: North America #2《October 19th- 31st “BLACK AND BLUE” Montreux Session》《December 3-16th “BLACK AND BLUE” Munich Session》This is the Stones and THE FACES in 1974/1975. “Great Guitarist Hunt” was a Rotterdam session from January to February 1975. This work was made immediately after Mick Taylor left the band, and the search for a successor was about to begin. Keith and Ron are old friends, and when Taylor informed Mick Jagger of his intention to leave the group, he was with Ron, so he asked Ron to join. It is unclear what Keith had in mind, but he may have seen Ron as a “future partner.” And the stage where Ian McLagan plays the piano behind Keith & Ron is just like the Stones. However, the person holding the microphone there is… Rod Stewart who shines golden!! You can enjoy three gorgeous co-stars that were realized because of the historical timing. A symbolic pro shot from the latter half of THE FACES, which also featured a collaboration with Keith. This is a fantastic official work that allows you to enjoy the historical stage on a scale of about 65 minutes, which is much longer than the broadcast. This is a reprint of the footage from the Japanese version of the laser disc, which is unlikely to be made official in the future.
