Description
The original master of historical master Mike Millard, which continues to be excavated. The latest version, Rod Stewart, is now available. This work includes “December 13, 1977 Inglewood Performance”. This is a superb audience recording recorded at “THE FORUM”, which is Millard’s specialty garden. At that time, Rod went solo and had hit after hit. He had risen to the position of a superstar who could not be pushed or pushed. This work is a live album that conveys such moments of brilliance using on-site sounds. First of all, let’s look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.・January 2nd – 15th: UK (5 performances) ・February 7th – March 3rd: Oceania (11 performances) ・March 7th: Honolulu performance ・October 1st – November 3rd: North America #1 (21 performances) [“FOOT LOOSE & FANCY FREE” released on November 4th] ・November 5th – December 20th: North America #2 (26 performances) ←★Here★This is Rod Stewart in 1977. At first glance, it looks like they tour throughout the year, but the so-called “FOOT LOOSE & FANCY FREE TOUR” only tours in North America after October. The Inglewood performance of this work was the final concert among them. In fact, there are some ambiguities in the records from that time, and it is not clear whether the “THE FORUM” performance was held for two consecutive days or three consecutive days depending on the data. Therefore, I will avoid making any statements, but it is probably the 22nd performance of “North America #2”. This work was recorded at such a show, but there is no need to worry about the quality because it has the same “1977” and “THE FORUM” as the legendary “LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE”. It’s already the best and it’s commonplace… no, that’s not enough. The seat, which was the only unstable factor for Millard, who had devised the equipment and method to win, was also as expected. The sound from the wheelchair seated in the sweet spot is unwavering, with a sense of closeness that makes it hard to believe that it is an audience, a beauty that is more than a sound board, and a realistic experience that is integrated with the performance. . A rod in its prime with perfect sound…it would be natural for it to be made into a permanent press CD, but this time it was introduced by the Uxbridge label. The biggest factor is… incomplete recording. Recording started from “Maggie May” which was in the middle of the show, and only about 55 minutes of the second half was recorded. The reason why this happened is unknown. Jim R, who went to the show with Millard at the time, does not mention that he was late in his memoirs, so maybe he was unable to record due to on-site security, or maybe he just made a mistake… Millard and Jim also attended the concert the following day, December 14th, but there was no recording of it. From this, it may be that there was some kind of problem with the equipment. In any case, the approximately 55 minutes recorded were a blissful time. To summarize the songs that will be written there… – Uma no Mimi ni Nenbutsu: Stay With Me – Every Picture Tells a Story: Maggie May / (I Know) I’m Losing You – Never a Dal・Moment: Twistin’ The Night Away ・Night on the Town: The Wild Side Of Life ・Kick Off to Tomorrow: You Keep Me Hangin’ On/You’re In My Heart…and like this It has become. The content is disappointing. It’s such a shame. A spectacular spectacle of Rod, who is on the verge of a huge success, and a huge chorus that fills “THE FORUM” with his majestic singing voice. You can experience that wonderful space with the super-excellent sound that comes close to that of “LISTEN TO THIS EDDIE”. There’s no way this could be a bad thing. This is a treasure of about 55 minutes that was left behind because Millard, who was producing a series of super masterpieces that shine in recording history, and Rod, who was full of brilliance at his peak, were present. Although it was a short recording, which is rare for a legendary master, the sound itself is richer than ever. Such a “too bad!” live album. Although it is an incomplete recording of only the second half of the show, it is a “miraculous ultra-high-quality recording”! !
