Description

RAINBOW in the 1990s was the culmination of Ritchie Blackmore’s HR. A new masterpiece born from Denmark, an unknown center, has been decided to be permanently preserved. This work is engraved with the “August 11, 1996 Copenhagen performance”. It is a superb audience recording from the appearance at the Danish rock festival “GIANTS OF ROCK”. RAINBOW, who raised the signal of revival with “Solitary Stranger” in the summer of 1995, also started touring. It took about 20 months and a total of 74 performances to tour the world. First of all, as always, let’s look back from the overall picture of the activity and understand the position of the show. 1995: August release of “Solitary Stranger” September 30-November 4: Europe #1 (25 performances) ←※ Official video November 11-23: Japan (9 performances) 1996: June 27-July 7: South America (8 performances) July 21-August 11: Europe #2 (13 performances) ←★ Here ★《Chuck Burge leaves the band → John Miceli joins》 1997: February 20-March 19: North America (18 performances) May 31: Denmark (final performance)《RAINBOW disbands → BLACKMORE’S NIGHT starts》This is the full view of RAINBOW’s activities that were revived in the 90s. Denmark is the only country where live performances were held in three sections in 1995 / 1996 / 1997, and the “GIANTS OF ROCK” performance of this work is in the middle. This was the final concert of “Europe #2”, and also the final performance of veteran Chuck Bahgi, who knew RAINBOW in the 1980s. This work, recorded at such a special site, has a special sound. It is a new master that has only recently been distributed, but it is already super direct. The core is extremely thick, there is no sparse feeling in the sound, and the details are fine. You can hear the lively applause as if hiding in the shadow of the powerful performance sound, so you won’t mistake it for a sound board, but you will want to mistake the strength and closeness. What is particularly striking is “Mistreated”. Here, the echo is applied deeply to the guitar and vocals, and you can clearly tell when the on-site engineer turned the knob. The bass and the gritty attack sound are clear and beautiful, and it is a beautiful recording that is not only powerful but also incredibly delicate. The beautiful sound is drawn with a full show unique to 1996. In fact, this work not only includes the full version from the final day (August 11th), but also five bonus songs from the previous day (August 10th) in Denmark. Let’s organize them together here. Lonely Stranger Wolf To The Moon/Still I’m Sad/Black Masquerade (★)/Ariel (★) Other Classics Ronnie era: Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll/Man On The Silver Mountain/Temple Of The King (★) Graham era: Since You Been Gone Joe era: Difficult To Cure/Maybe Next Time/Street Of Dreams Purple era: Mistreated (★)/Perfect Strangers/Burn (★)/Smoke On The Water (★) *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that can be listened to in two takes (August 10th and 11th). …And so on. “Mistreated”, “Street Of Dreams” and “Maybe Next Time” which can’t be heard in the official video “BLACK MASQUERADE” are also delicious, but what is even more explosively 1996-like is the opening “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll”. Even at the Japan tour, depending on the venue, it was “Spotlight Kid” or “Too Late For Tears”, but 1996 was also different depending on the magnetism. Since it’s a good opportunity, let’s organize the changes in the opening songs here. September to November 1995: “Spotlight Kid” starts (Europe #1/Kitakyushu, Japan) November: “Too Late For Tears” starts (Yokohama, Japan and after) June to July 1996: “Too Late For Tears” starts (South America) July to August: “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” starts (Europe #2) ←★Here★ February to May 1997: “Spotlight Kid” starts (North America/Denmark) As mentioned above, there are only three opening songs. “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” starts only in “Europe #2” and is also a symbol of this tour. This work closes with a recording on the previous day, “August 10th”, which is as superb as the main part. This is a new masterpiece that allows you to enjoy the precious “1996 European RAINBOW” with the superb quality that goes “like a sound board”. The last season when Richie was burning as a hard rock guitarist. The best audience recording of the “GIANTS OF ROCK” performance on August 11, 1996. It is a very direct new master that has only appeared recently. The core is very thick, there is no sparse feeling in the sound, and the details are fine. In “Mistreated”, the guitar and vocals have a deep echo, but you can clearly tell when the on-site engineer turned the knob. It is a new masterpiece that opens with “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll” and allows you to enjoy a delicious full show of “Mistreated” and “Street Of Dreams”.
