RIOT’s latest Japan tour is also attracting attention with its first acoustic set. The original recording containing the latest stage will be released. The masterpiece live album “KAWASAKI 2019 1ST NIGHT” will also be released at the same time, but this work is the second. This is a masterpiece audience recording of the “October 6, 2019: Club Citta Kawasaki” performance. As many of you may already know, this visit to Japan is only for two performances in Kawasaki, and the favorite is this second day. It was a show with more volume than the first day. This may be a bit sudden, but let’s organize the contents of the set. [Part 1: Acoustic]・Tokyo Rose “ROCK CITY”/Narita “NARITA”/In Your Eyes “NIGHTBREAKER”・FIRE DOWN UNDER: Altar of the King/Outlaw・UNLEASH THE FIRE: Land of the Rising Sun/Until We Meet Again [Part 2: Electric] ●Guy Speranza era (4 songs)・ROCK CITY: Warrior・NARITA: 49er/Road Racin’・FIRE DOWN UNDER: Swords and Tequila ●Tony Moore era (8 songs)・THUNDERSTEEL :Flight of the Warrior/Johnny’s Back/Bloodstreets/Sign of the Crimson Storm/Thundersteel・THE PRIVILEGE OF POWER: On Your Knees/Metal Soldiers/Storming the Gates of Hell ●Mike DiMeo era (2 songs)・NIGHTBREAKER: Destiny/ Magic Maker●Todd Michael Hall era (6 songs)・UNLEASH THE FIRE: Bring the Hammer Down/Fall From the Sky/Take Me Back・ARMOR OF LIGHT: Victory/Angel’s Thunder, Devil’s Reign/Heart of a Lion… And it looks like this. The show consisted of two parts, the first part = acoustic set / the second part = electric set. It’s hard to understand how it’s different from the first day if you just look at this, so let’s take a closer look at the differences between the two days. ●Acoustic (first day) → Electric (second day)・Bloodstreets/Take Me Back ●Electric (first day)→Acoustic (second day)・Outlaw/Altar of the King ●Songs only on the second day・Narita (acoustic)/ Sign of the Crimson Storm (Electric) …and it looks like this. Two songs have been replaced with acoustic/electric, and two more songs have been added. I’m especially happy about “Narita,” which opens the acoustic set. You can enjoy the unplugged version of the famous song that fascinated the Japanese people along with “Warrior”. Although the mood is different from the electric tension, it is still a masterpiece. A wonderful version that highlights that soaring melody. The arrangement that flows from there into the lighthearted “Tokyo Rose” is also great. Furthermore, the famous songs “Outlaw” and “Altar of the King” from “FIRE DOWN UNDER” are also included in the first part, and the color of the entire acoustic set has become much more like the initial color. The unplugged versions of “Bloodstreets” and “Take Me Back” on the first day are also great, so I can’t give them a thumbs up, but I feel like this work has a more focused flow. The sound that recorded such a show is also exquisite. This is the original master for this work (the first day’s recording artist was a different person), which was handed down directly from Mr. “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”, who is second to none when it comes to recording HR/HM, and the bass with unclear lines is booming. The roaring sound is the same as the first day, but the crispness of the mid and high tones that do not mix with the base is amazing. Each sound of the drums and the interaction between the twin guitars is crisp and three-dimensional. When it comes to vocals, there is zero distance, and both whispers and high shouts are recorded very beautifully. If the bass sound was clear, it would have been a superb soundboard-level recording… However, even if it is a base, it more than fulfills its role as a foundation, and it stands out clearly in an acoustic set. As the “strongest” man would have expected, it was so clear that even when listening with headphones, there was no hall sound at all, and it seems physically impossible to record the bass more clearly than this. On the second day, the number of songs increased significantly, and even an unplugged version of the famous song “Narita” was released. It is a masterpiece of a live album that captures the full show with a wonderful (and honest to the scene) sound. The first day where you can listen to the acoustic versions “Bloodstreets” and “Take Me Back” is also hard to throw away, but overall this work will be the best masterpiece.
