This is a live recording of The Band’s bassist, Rick Danko, singing and playing the guitar. He sings and plays the acoustic guitar instead of the bass. The sound quality is excellent, capturing even the detailed nuances of the guitar strings, and you can enjoy songs by The Band, originals, and blues numbers. A must-listen is Bob Dylan’s unreleased song “Blind Willie McTell.” In recent years, demo versions of this song have become available in bootleg series, but there has been no official recording, making this a very valuable cover. The classic song “I Shall Be Released” is a great performance that touches the heart with its joyful falsetto, reminiscent of Richard Manuel.
