Richard Thompson released his first new album in three years, “Dream Attic” (a new song was played live and used as an album track) last year, after “Sweet Warrior” was produced on electric guitar for the first time in three years. This is a complete recording of the Warwick performance on January 29th, recorded with a high-quality audience recording of about 2 hours and 13 minutes from his 2011 UK tour. As usual, the original sound source is recorded by Taper, who provides great master DAT sound sources mainly in London. You can enjoy the latest show that was just held the other day with a full stage with an electric band, clear and powerful, with a spectacular sound that makes you feel like the band is playing in front of you. In the first half of the show, the new work “Dream Attic” is played in the order of the songs. All 11 songs except Burning Man and Here Comes Geordie, which are recorded on the album as the 4th and 5th songs, are played. In the second half, fans will be entertained with a set that covers representative songs from traditional, acoustic to electric numbers. Wall Of Death has a tremendous groove, and the whole venue sings together. The powerful A Man In Need at the end is also the best. This is a super high quality live performance with a full range of performances from electric to acoustic with the backing band requiring outstanding skills. The tasteful guitar and vocals are the best in every song. Since his debut as the leader of Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson has been performing folk rock with a strong British color for 40 years, and is always highly praised by music critics around the world. (He was ranked 19th in Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Guitarists”.) This is the latest live recording of Richard Thompson, who is scheduled to perform in Japan for the first time in about 9 years in April 2011 (this is an acoustic live performance).
