Description
Introducing an extremely rare live recording of Rich Kids, one of the most popular early UK punk acts. The core of the band, bassist Glenn Matlock, left the Pistols, almost certainly due to a falling out with Lydon, but Rich Kids was a band that had been active behind the scenes since the latter half of the Pistols’ tenure. There was also an invitation from the Clash, but he declined and stuck to Rich Kids, but it is an unmistakable rare sound source that Mick Jones was enrolled as a support at the very beginning. This live recording provides a glimpse into the birth of Rich Kids’ band, which still has a limited repertoire, and is a must-see for fans. Glenn Matlock’s bass skills are quite good. He also has excellent taste, and later performed a cover of Small Faces. This set consists of 5 original songs and 3 cover songs. Covers of Dave Berry, Tommy James and the Shondells, and the Pistols (bitter smile). Guitar player Steve New later joined Lydon’s PIL.
