Description
REO SPEEDWAGON is a genuine live band that continues to excite the world with its energetic tours. Their latest live album is now available. This work includes “October 3, 2019 Worcester Performance”. It is a full audience recording that vacuum-packs the whole story. Already 10 years have passed since the studio work “NOT SO SILENT NIGHT… CHRISTMAS WITH REO SPEEDWAGON”, but the live performance is energetic. This year, they are playing as many shows as they did in their heyday. In order to get an idea of their current situation, let’s first check the show position from the current tour schedule. ●2019・January 11th-February 10th: North America #1 (8 performances)・April 8th-October 19th: North America #2 (59 performances)←★Here★・October 25th-11th February 2nd: Central America (3 performances) November 9th – December 6th: North America #3 (7 performances) February 1st + 4th, 2020: North America #4 (2 performances) March 1st Sunday – 14th: North America #5 (3 performances) This is the schedule for 2019/2020 that has been announced so far. I recently visited Central American countries, but other than that I’ve been completely focused on the United States and Canada. Although it is limited, nearly 80 shows have been held. You can see from their schedule that they are still very popular in their home country. Even in such a live show, this year’s main event was “North America #2”. The Worcester performance of this work was the 55th concert, which was the final stage. This work, which recorded such a show, is a fresh audience recording. Although it doesn’t have the close contact feel of a sound board, the hall sound adds thickness and strength. However, it is (never) a recording that is bothered by blurry or close screams. The heart of the song hits you straight, and the beautiful melody becomes richer and richer as it plays. It may feel like there are a few bubbles mixed in at the peak, but the sound is wrapped in gentle beauty. Also, this work has a good feeling of enthusiasm from the audience. Even though it’s real, it doesn’t get in the way. The loud applause spread far and wide, creating a spectacle, but the balance was far smaller than the strong sound of the performance. The large chorus only supports Kevin Cronin’s singing voice and does not intervene. This is a live album that allows you to stand in the midst of a warm and welcoming atmosphere and immerse yourself in the masterpieces. What is depicted with such a sound is golden greatest hits +α. Speaking of REO SPEEDWAGON in recent years, the official work “LIVE AT MOONDANCE JAM” comes to mind, but that is just a short set for festivals. This work allows you to enjoy a large number of famous songs only because it is a full show. Let’s take a look at the overall view here. ●R.E.O./T.W.O. (2 songs)・Golden Country・Songs that cannot be heard on MOONDANCE JAM: Music Man ●RIDIN’ THE STORM OUT (2 songs)・Ridin’ The Storm Out・Songs that cannot be heard on MOONDANCE JAM: Son Of A Poor Man ●YOU CAN TUNE A PIANO, BUT YOU CAN’T TUNA FISH (2 songs) ・Time For Me To Fly/Roll With The Changes ●HI INFIDELITY (7 songs) ・Don’t Let Him Go/In Your Letter/Take It On The Run/Keep On Loving You・Songs not available on MOONDANCE JAM: Tough Guys/Someone Tonight/I Wish You Were There ●Others (5 songs)・Keep Pushin’ “R.E.O.”/Back On The Road Again “NINE LIVES” /Can’t Fight This Feeling “WHEELS ARE TURNIN”’ ・Songs that cannot be heard on MOONDANCE JAM: Building The Bridge “BUILDING THE BRIDGE” /Two Tickets To Paradise (Eddie Money) …And so it goes like this. There are plenty of 7 songs in the repertoire that you can’t hear on “LIVE AT MOONDANCE JAM.” Not only is the volume increased, but “Building The Bridge” from the 90s, the relatively rare “Someone Tonight”, and “I Wish You Were There”, which has been revived for the first time in a while, will also be performed. And the ultimate thing is “Two Tickets To Paradise” which is played at the very end. This is not their original, but a cover by Eddie Money, who recently passed away from esophageal cancer. It became a hot topic when it was performed at the “KAABOO FESTIVAL” on the day Eddie passed away (September 13th), and since then it has become a regular memorial performance. Before the performance, Kevin talks about his feelings for Eddie and writes a refreshing and touching masterpiece. It has been a long time since REO SPEEDWAGON could hope to come to Japan. This is a live album where you can fully experience their latest tour with great sound. This is not only a collection of masterpieces from the Golden Age, but also a heartwarming tribute to Eddie Money.
