Description

In 1985, RATT set out to conquer the world on the back of successive hits such as “OUT OF THE CELLAR” and “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY.” A new excavation live album is now available that will give you the best experience of the scene. What is infused into this work is “Donington performance on August 17, 1985”. This is the first audience recording when appearing at the 6th “MONSTERS OF ROCK”, the UK’s largest rock festival. This year’s MOR featured ZZ TOP as the headliner, with HR/HM rising stars such as BON JOVI and METALLICA all appearing. RATT also appeared as a member in second place. This fresh sense of the times becomes even clearer when you look at RATT’s own career history. Let’s take a look back at the schedule at that time. 1985, January 4th: Honolulu performance, March 20th-27th: Japan #1 (6 performances) [“INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY” released on June 13th], June 18th-August 13th: North America #1a (41 performances) August 17: MONSTERS OF ROCK appearance ←★Coco★ August 20-December 31: North America #1b (86 performances) February 6-28, 1986: UK (17 performances), April 7th-28th: Japan #2 (17th performance), April 30th: Anchorage performance [“DANCING UNDERCOVER” released on August 9th], December 4th-31st: North America #2 (18 performances) This is RATT in 1985/1986, when it reached its peak. Although he has performed a huge number of shows, including the legendary first visit to Japan and second visit to Japan, this work also appeared on MOR about two months after “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY”. It was also a concert held during the US tour “North America #1” when I went to England only once. In fact, this was their first trip to Europe. Until then, they had only been to North America and Japan for the first time, and it was Lee’s first time to go to Europe. The sound recorded at such a monument stage is also wonderful. Although it is a vintage audience from the 80’s, there is a strong vivid feeling with no echoes because it is an outdoor venue, and the extremely thick core is amazing. However, even though the recording was excellent, the sound output from the scene was not. Perhaps because he was the second performer, he was feeling a bit fumbling. The sense of separation is not good in the first place, but what is even more surprising is the ending of the second song “Wanted Man”. RATT decides to make a quick decision and quickly descends into “You Think You’re Tough,” but the PA drops here. This was completely the staff’s mistake, and the audience at the scene was also dissatisfied. It quickly recovers in the 1 minute mark of “You Think You’re Tough,” but the noisy atmosphere is also a historical document. What is depicted with such historical sound is a show packed with the charm of the early days. Since he was the second performer, he only had a short time of about 35 minutes, but roughly speaking, this is about the same length as one album of “OUT OF THE CELLAR” or “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY”. There, two masterpieces + special songs from the debut EP “RATT” are concentrated. Let’s organize the set here and experience the special richness.・RATT: U Got It/You Think You’re Tough/Sweet Cheater ・OUT OF THE CELLAR: Wanted Man/The Morning After/Round and Round ・INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY: You’re in Love/Lay It Down/Never Use Love… and it looks like this. A true epitome of the Golden Age. While the major songs are lined up in a row, it also has a great real-time feel that “U Got It” and “Never Use Love”, which will be sealed for more than 20 years, are scattered. And above all, he gave a passionate performance that made such a set come true! This is already really hot. The excitement of being in front of tens of thousands of people for the first time in England was sky-high, and the two guitar riffs were sharp and the dancing leads were aggressive. The beat also rushes forward with a forward-looking rhythm. As mentioned above, there is a PA problem in the beginning, but whether you are aware of it or not (well, you probably are), an incredible passion is erupting from the speakers. Building on their success in their home countries of America and Japan, RATT launched an offensive into HR/HM’s homeland of England. This is a documentary album that allows you to experience the forefront of this field. Their live album itself is valuable, but it is even more overwhelming with its historical enthusiasm. Collectors can’t stop because new sound sources like this are suddenly discovered. A piece that overflows with emotion. Audience recording of “August 17, 1985 MONSTERS OF ROCK”, which was RATT’s first European performance. This is the first appearance of the master who was recently discovered, and the vivid feeling and thick core are strong because there is no echo because it is an outdoor venue. The on-site PA causes trouble at the 1-minute mark between the ending of the second song “Wanted Man” and “You Think You’re Tough,” but the noisy on-site feeling is also very realistic. Although the time was short at about 35 minutes because he was the second performer, the show exploded with a concentration of EPs “RATT”, “OUT OF THE CELLAR”, and “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY”. This is an extremely hot piece with the explosive tension that comes out of the speakers because it is their first time in the UK.
