Description
RAINBOW returned to their home country while welcoming two Americans. “RAINBOW THEATER 1981” is a masterpiece that revives the famous performance at “Rainbow Theater” on the first day from the original cassette recorded by Kinney. To commemorate its birth, we present to you a live album faithfully reprinted from the original 3-LP set “LONDON RAINBOW THEATER JULY 8 1981 (POSP251)” also recorded by Kinney! Kinney Recording’s original cassette series strives to reprint original LPs as much as possible, and the analog sound full of nostalgia has been well received each time. However, even among such series, this work is by far the best. What jumped out from the analog disc in the best condition that was treasured by domestic core collectors was unmistakably the best press-grade sound. Of course, when compared to a CD created from the original cassette, the freshness will drop (which is natural since it goes through an analog disc), but the width of the drop is extremely small. This is a masterpiece that shows just how wonderful Kinney’s pressing technology was at the time, and how carefully the collector preserved it, leaking out from the speakers in the form of “sound.” So, is it not much different from other CDs? That’s not true. The pitch was high, probably because the tape speed was a little faster. Furthermore, the original cassette (rarely) recorded the encore cheers without stopping the tape, but it was significantly cut when producing the LP and is not included in this work. Of course, since the concept is to “faithfully reproduce the analog version,” we have reproduced it with these flaws intact. However, this slightly crazy pitch also has an indescribable flavor. The sharp sense of speed created by the fast tape speed is amazing. In particular, “Spotlight Kid” was in an explosive mood from the original performance, but in this work it is turbocharged. The impregnable ensemble, which stays in perfect order while running fast, has an exhilarating feel that can even be called metallic. RAINBOW THEATER 1981 packs a refreshing first day back to your home country. Although it is different from the on-site sound, it is a reprint of the traditional analog 3-disc set that makes the famous performance even more vivid. A live album that captures the history of famous analogues that have continued to convey passionate performances unique to their home country that could never be experienced in Japan.
