Description

The 2CD “HAMMERSMITH 1981 2ND NIGHT”, which is a reprint of the eventful live performance from the original cassette recorded by Kinney, is a masterpiece of a documentary album with a vivid and unusual mood. This work is a straight CD version of the 3-disc LP “CAN’T HAPPEN HERE (POSP251)” also recorded by Kinney. CDs made from this analog version (with terrible sound) have been on the market in the past, but of course they are not copies of them. Up until now, we have offered reprints of original LPs to the Kinney series, but this time we will also be using analog discs in excellent condition that were treasured by the same domestic collectors. We have carefully treated the needle pricks, making it one of the highest quality LPs in history. Compared to HAMMERSMITH 1981 2ND NIGHT, it has a nostalgic sound with a sense of distance and analog warmth, but the live performance is still not warm. “I Surrender” and “Man On The Silver Mountain” where Richie’s frustration can be felt, “Difficult To Cure” where the guitar suddenly disappears, and the guitar crash of “Kill The King” where the anger hits… all of them. , conveys the unmistakable mood of the incident live. Yes, this is the sound that was the first to report the crime scene at that time. At that time, analog boot was so expensive that it was unimaginable from today. Moreover, it was a 3-disc set, so it was an expensive item. I took the plunge and bought it, excitedly put it on the turntable, and from the speakers came Ritchie’s unbelievable guitar playing. I couldn’t understand what was going on, and all I could do was strain my ears and listen intently to what was going on. I was prepared for the sound to be bad, but despite the great sound, I just couldn’t swallow this concert. And then, without skipping a track, they rush into a roaring encore and an angry crash… The audience at Hammersmith Odeon, where the concert was held, was probably very confused, but those of us in the Far East, far away, shared the same feeling. What this work is packed with is the atmosphere of “that era”. Why reprint the LP while reproducing the highest quality sound of the original cassette? Do you want to know how much you have upgraded? No, it’s not. Because HAMMERSMITH 1981 2ND NIGHT is so great because it brings out the atmosphere of the scene, I want you to feel the atmosphere at home at the time, when you were listening to it while feeling anxious in faraway Japan. A time travel album that brings back the turmoil you felt because it was in real time. Please enjoy the smell of 1981 with the masterpiece “HAMMERSMITH 1981 2ND NIGHT”!
