In 2012, the band made the shocking decision to fire Geoff Tate, and replaced him with Todd La Touré of Crimson Glory. This item includes the audio recordings of the two performances in which Todd debuted, as well as the pro-shot footage of Jeff’s last two performances. The first recording after Todd joined is a special live performance held in Seattle on June 8th and 9th, 2012, both of which are complete recordings from the digital audience master. At this point, Jeff’s departure had not yet been announced, so the band name was “RISING WEST” and it was a semi-secret gig, so the set list was just as special as the fans would have hoped, with numbers from the first mini-album to “OPERATION:MINDCRIME” and a cover of Iron Maiden. Todd’s vocals, which are also of note, are also good at high tones like Jeff’s, and he sings past songs without any discomfort, which makes us very excited about the direction they will take in the future. The video DVD-R includes two performances, “M3 ROCK FESTIVAL” on May 12th, which was effectively the last performance with Jeff, and “ROCKLAHOMA” on May 27th, both of which are complete recordings from the TV on-air master with official quality pro shots.
