Description

This work includes the “April 25, 1979: Nippon Budokan” performance. This is the first released master by the same recording artist as the 1985 treasure “AT LAST BUDOKAN”, and its quality is superb. The sense of stability and the almost uninterrupted long length are wonderful. In fact, the sound of “DREAMER’S BALL” was the best ever, but the recorder was worried about the remaining tape and repeatedly paused between songs. As a result, the beginnings of songs such as “You’re My Best Friend,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Sheer Heart Attack,” and “We Will Rock You” were lacking, and even with all that care, the songs could not be maintained until the final song, “God Save The Queen.” It was. However, this new recording has a great sound and almost no interruptions. Still, although there are recording omissions after the end of “Let Me Entertain You” and “Somebody To Love”, the only missing part of the performance is the beginning of “Bohemian Rhapsody” due to a tape change. You can fully immerse yourself in the performance and singing voice without getting nervous. Speaking of being fully immersed, the lack of audience noise is also a key point. At the Nippon Budokan scene, a yellow roar is swirling, but it is a balance that spreads far away. Speaking of close-up sounds, you can only hear some clapping. A seamless recording situation, a balance that allows you to concentrate on your performance and singing voice, and a fresh sound that only comes from an original master. Because these three things are available, we were able to completely complement the valuable sound board. Enjoying a full show with such a sound is truly emotional. It is well known that Freddie was in a bad mood on this day, and it is no wonder that he refused to broadcast it even though he took a professional shot (even so, the professional shot of QUEEN’s Japan performance is a real shame). However, the enthusiasm that comes from the fact that they desperately try to summon the voices that cannot be heard comes out. The performance of trying to cover the voice is still visible in the professional shot, and you can feel the temperature of the Nippon Budokan heating up as you witness it. And you can experience the show (almost) in full with seamless sound. Although it is not as good as the sound board in terms of quality, the real pleasure of enjoying it without switching is in this work. The world’s first masterpiece audience recording that made possible the miracle of raising the short sound board to perfection. This is a wonderful live album that combines length and sound quality, updating the highest peak ever. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 25th April 1979 Disc 1 (51:05) 1. Intro. 2.
